Hi i have a question my fanfiction profile is set totally differnet to your and i was wondering why? When i try to edit a story and click save it say succefully saved but when i go to look at the document again it looks like it did before editing it.

This is really annoying me and i was wondering if you had any advice?

@UmbreonAndEspeon1 first you need to have a documet (like a saved story on microsoft office word) then click "publish" and click "doc manager (upload)" save the document there then you click "new story" and publish it there. If you have more than one chapter then click "manage storys" and click the story you want then click "edit" and then "content/chapters" then "add new chapter" hope this helps you

@bracefacenetwork this is how you add more chapters:

- After you uploaded your next chapter in the "Doc Manager" go back to Publish

- then click "manage stories".

- choose the story you want to add more chapters to.

- after that click "Content/Chapters"

- and click "select document" and then press "add chapter"

I was able to figure out how to upload a ff on my own, but the site messed it up by combining paragraphs and making the last quarter of the ff all italic. I've tried updating it but nothing happens. Does it usually take hours upon hours to update or should it happen right away?

When you submit your story what does the word "LIFE" mean and why does it have 60 days near it?

If you don't update in 60 days, it will be trashed.It doesn't matter however, as most of the time people have already published it or have a document on their desktop.

@DGraymanfan200 Either go to 'Traffic' on your account and go to the old Story Traffic version and click on the review number or just go to your profile and go down to your stories and click on the orange 'Review' button next to the story name. If it's not there you don't have any reviews.

@WeLookLikeCookies err... you probably did something wrong, did you get a conformation email from fanfiction to say that your story is up? If not then there's defineately something wrong. Have a look at the guide to posting stories that fanfiction provides if you are still unsure.

What program is your document based in? You might not have a compatible document manager.

@bakkahentai2600 iirc, its a very annoying ad. You just click the Skip Ad button in the top-right corner. I think there's also an ad blocker in the Help tab if it really irks you enough.

IT would probably be prudent to mention that you have to accept the guidelines first. Even though the site tells you that, it'll at least clean up any false impressions that they messed up something in the process.

But nevertheless, good work on putting this up. Fanfiction is an art rarely come across. =D

Thanks for posting this. I've been writing fanfiction for just over two years and I can commiserate with those who've comented about popularity of a particular story. I have some stories that have 80+ reviews and some that have fewer than 10. I have to agree with Micheal though. I write what I want to see and hope others like it.

It pretty much boils down to luck at one point, meesa thinks. I've read some amazing fics in my days that weren't that popular at all.

I recently started writing myself, and it's frustrating when you put a lot of work into something that not a lot of people read. But you got to ask yourself, do you write to get popularity, or because it's fun? Luck's a bitch that way. =D

You have to try your hardest and keep writing. Some really well written fanfics are not popular because the author is not well recognized. First off, write from your heart and make a kickass story! Then, go around and read a few fanfics and leave some reviews. I can tell you from experience, the more reviews you leavefor others, the more people view your profile and read your stories.

Don't be frustrated if your fics aren't that popular right now.- they will be in due time. ^__^

I also think it's important to ask yourself how popular the fandom is that you're writing in, and how popular your main couple is.

I've written a lot of stories on FF and it really differs whether or not I get many readers. I like some couples that are not so mainstream in some fandoms, and naturally, they don't get as many views and reviews as the ones I've written for more popular fandoms and couples ;) Just take it easy, people will read it someday :D

It depends on where you are, I think. I'm not popular but I have noticed a pattern in reviews. When I submit a chapter at 12-3 pm, I get more reviews. It might be that it stays in the front pages of the categories longer.

I also depends on which fandom and/or couple you write for.

Example: I write for TDI that is a popular fandom. But I write about a couple that is not popular. If I had written a fic for a more popular couple I would have more reviews.

Oh, that's easy. Upload it and then in document you can use the line break. I personally just kept two docs uploaded in my document manager and erase all of the words and type the fanfiction everytime. Remember to put a disclaimer!!!!
