  • Why does it say your door is open every time you shift?

  • don't you hate it when your doors fly open while you're being a badass?!

  • chuck norris is somehow related to this video

  • @thedudewhoiskickass In 2005 I sent Chuck Norris a hand written letter asking him for help with my 1991 Eagle Talon build. Just days later a man on horseback arrived at my door with a sealed envelope. Inside the envelope was a small ziploc bag of genuine Chuck Norris beard clippings. Attached to the bag was a note that read: "Son, use my beard essence wisely. Love, your real father Chuck." I can't divulge to you how I use them to make my 4G63 make lots of power, but trust me, I do!

  • @turbomiragedude rofl

    awesome

  • thats a high redline... damn

  • u couldnt even feel it grabing the pavement while making gear changes! and it's a mirage not an Bugatti veyron or a Aero ssc, or a Pagani Zonda dude! let me see the road and i believe u

  • u doors are open

  • mmmmm yeaaaah

  • I read your build story and just wanted to say congrats. Must be sweet living up to your dream. Can't wait for part two of your February update.

  • By the way remember me? I said I had a 91 gsx I was thinkin bout sellin? Well I did the smart thing and sold the family car, dumped the girlfriend and been workin on the DSM daily! Selling that thing would've been the dumbest move ever...

  • @batdad187 DSM > most girlfriends :-)

  • It's amazing how you get questions and or comments about this being fake yet you have a fully documented awesome website to back all your shit up... Keep on doin bro your cars sick

  • @batdad187 Thank you! Yes, I put it all out there for everyone to see!

  • Beautiful Car my friend! Wow super clean like it just rolled out the factory, I am very happy to see the hard work payed off for you> PEace n Love

  • @DjMirage3 Thanks man! Good luck to you!

  • Incredible!...and it has air conditioning!

  • @123IOWNALL321 Yes, gotta have it here in the south!

  • blew the doors off, ......himself.

  • yea 0-60 in 3.5 sec yea right.

  • the door light isn't going crazy for no reason...they actually opened up and he started flying

  • You still have one more gear :) I bet you can wrap the speedo around

  • I'm just going to take a guess and say the door light has be rewired to show when the alcohol injection is spraying. It doesn't build enough boost in 1st gear to trigger whatever activation pressure s/he has programmed and cuts off between shifts as the BOV dumps the pressure in the intake momentarily shutting off the alcohol injection. Or at least that is what I would do.

  • @lordxathor Unfortunately it's just a bad door switch. Under heavy/prolonged acceleration, the "door ajar" dash light comes on and the interior lights come on, as if the door has been opened. I've actually grown quite fond of it from a comedic perspective.

  • This is amazing...i just bought a 93 talon from Tennesee actually. What do you run for exhaust?? And with or without a dump pipe?

  • @Cass0009 Thanks! The exhaust is 3" from the turbo then out to a Magnaflow muffler in the back. I'm running a Tial 40mm wastegate that is dumped to the atmosphere.

  • 9k rpms is sick.

im gonna guess the door light is your hatch cause mine does the same lol

  • ur driving on a dino it obvious ur ddoor is open..

  • rpms....OVER 9000

  • 0-60 in 3 sec!!!!

  • GONE IN 60 SECONDS?

guess we should make a movie that features a real car, and name it gone in 21 seconds

  • Comment removed

  • In all honesty, the door light looks like a shift indicator if you match the Revs/Shifting to it. Also, it looks like that DSM wants to push faster than 130mph :P

  • Does it ever break down? I hear DSM's are notorious for that

  • @lilficek Mine hasn't broken down. DSMs are not notorious for breaking down. They are, however, notorious for broke dudes buying one for $1500 with 175k miles on it, then bolting $5k worth of parts on it, then beating the tar out of it with a shitty tune to try and run 10s, then wondering why the car isn't reliable, when the basic maintenance and upgrade fundamentals have been completely disregarded.

  • @turbomiragedude Sounds like a buddy of mine.. lmfao....

  • @turbomiragedude car looks just like mine except for the wheels

  • @turbomiragedude hahahaha! you just busted all of us out!

  • @turbomiragedude Do you get you'r parts put on professionally then?

  • @lilficek No, I do it all myself.

  • @turbomiragedude So no bolt ons? It's a fantastic car! keep up the good work!

  • @turbomiragedude

That was a pretty intense pull, and yeah thats igzactly why man.!

  • @turbomiragedude ROFLMAO! response win

  • @turbomiragedude interesting.. never had a door light come on when I shift... DSMs are great but are horrible at the same time...

  • @lilficek lol. you don't even want to know.

  • this thing accelerates just as fast from 0-60 as 60-120!

  • uhhhh, dyne with light load... LOL FAIL

  • fake..dyno...my gram's echoo wil do that if you put it on dyno nd floor it..dumbass...by your logic your little shite car is faster than a bugatti..lolol

  • @Pre00 Hm. Could it potentially be a drag car? Have you yet to explore the possibilities?

  • @Pre00 Click on the link in the description, and then read your post. See how stupid you sound?

  • Great video man :)

  • @BlkAudiA4B5 Thanks!

  • @alfred777ish It's comments like these that encourage me to reflect on the power of the internet. Imagine, a giant public forum where folks can freely denigrate your reputation and years of hard work all from the safety and security of their computer. Oh and with no basis whatsoever! Call me and my little video fake? Well, I call you an uninformed dipshit who has no respect, passion or automotive savvy. Do your homework before opening your stupid trap and appreciate the legit work of others.

  • @turbomiragedude AMEN!!!

  • @drockz75 Thanks!

  • Going so fast the door lights goes nuts lol

  • i have been watching first gen vids all evening looking for one as fast as mine. congrats yours is prob about the same as mine lol

  • you wouldnt be in the bay area by chance?

  • @AlwaysStuntin612 I wish! I'm in Tennessee.

  • @turbomiragedude Go Mocs.

Nice car man. I'd hate to run into your car while roaming the streets of Chattanooga...haha

  • @MikeW259 Thanks!

  • @turbomiragedude may i ask where you get all of your dyno work done?

  • @MikeW259 Well, I've never had this car on a dyno, but I've dyno'd my Miata at a place called Edge Automotive here in East TN.

  • Your "Danger to Manifold" light keeps coming on.

  • fuck your car is fast!!!! good shit

  • Very nice pull!

  • so it took 13-14 seconds to hit 130? you probably run 11's right?

  • Holyyyyyyyy Mc Nasty! Would you like some fuckin fries with that?

  • Comment removed

  • 4banger ftw

  • thats badass

  • You shouldn't drive so fast with the door open.

  • Sweet jesus man, nice car!!! That's 4 seconds (or under) 0-60

  • @LaserethPC Thanks! Yes, probably something like that in this video. According to my last 1/8 mile run (more aggressive launch) the 0-60 time was 2.7 seconds.

  • @turbomiragedude im gonna be buying a basically stock Dsm its a 91 with the 4g63 rebuilt motor aftermarket turbo....are these cars reliable? I had a eagle talon YEARS ago before i could even have a licence. and it was Great shape body wise but engine tranny n such were so horrible. this ones a AWD too. anything i should look out for on a DSM?

  • @LaserethPC 3.7 seconds... thats just obscene

  • im not 100 percent sure cuz i dont know you but without more proof im pretty sure you have the car off the ground.

  • @DiErVoNmAnE Well I'm 100% sure that you're a stupid and naive troll. So you're saying that I lifted the car up off of the ground and ran it up to 135mph to trick everyone on YouTube? You fool. Before you open your mouth, do some research. I have multiple videos of this car drag racing and a website with every detail on the car. In fact, one video shows it running 7.4@100mph in the 1/8 mile on pump gas- and that was four years ago! I suppose that was off the ground too, right dumbass?

  • @turbomiragedude now now no need to get mad sir. i saw your other videos but too late i had alredy posted the comment. i really wish you wouldnt have called me a dumb ass/stupid/naive as i really like to avoid that kind of talk if its not really necessary. i truly am sorry for insulting you.. awesome car bro once again im sorry for assuming before enquiring about your car. by the way my brother has a 96 talon and after veiwing this im gonna spend more time working on that car.

  • @DiErVoNmAnE try lifting a car off the ground and doing that. I work on cars for a living and a caravan will do 0-90 in a sec or 2 that way. he had over 10 secs to 130 from start

  • @DiErVoNmAnE If he lifted it off the ground then the RPMs would have went crazy...

  • @XxVilifierxX =O indeed, ive never tried it

  • @DiErVoNmAnE lol. It may seem like a good way to trick people on the web...but you have a good chance of blowing your motor...well...more like slinging a rod i THINK is one of the things that will happen.

  • You can see the fuel gauge go down as well.

  • Where do u get the meth?

  • @sergsrt8 I use my own 50/50 mix of water and denatured alcohol.

  • @turbomiragedude ok cool, i also wanted to ask....how is ur gas mileage? i noticed that someone said look at the fuel gauge as u do the 0-130....i can see it slowly moves to E (empty) as you push it....lol

  • @sergsrt8 I get 24mpg with 50/50 city highway driving - and that includes beating on it regularly. The reason the gas gauge moves under acceleration is more likely due to fuel slosh.

  • @turbomiragedude wow thats awesome, just one more question. People use meth injection because they dont want engine detonation to occur but wont u be safe if u just swap out the cams. I noticed that u did both, did u do it just to be extra safe?

  • @sergsrt8 Swapping out cams has nothing to do with preventing detonation. Camshafts allow the engine to ingest/expel more air/fuel per combustion cycle.

  • @turbomiragedude so without the alcohol injection ur motor would have blown up by now right?

  • @sergsrt8 methonal injection helps but reving an engine that much on stock internals

is a whole different story, I bet he has built this motor if not he will soon.

  • this guy has his car off the ground

  • woah, check out the oil temp gauge. you can see it move every time he gets into boost. It's crazy how quickly the oil heats up.

  • @cherrybomb1493 There is no oil temp gauge on the dash. What you are looking at is the oil pressure gauge.

  • @turbomiragedude oh, weird. I guess that makes sense. It seemed to be slowly going up, without relation to rpm's, so I assumed it was oil temp.

anyways, rad car man! your site is pretty awesome too; in the nearish future I'll probably be building a water/meth system via some of the info on your site.

  • aparently he had it tuned so his car doors open everytime he barreled into redline.lol

  • @UPcomingBARBER08 Ha! It's a bad door switch. I've replaced every other thing, I guess this is next! :-)

  • @UPcomingBARBER08 Bad door switch man. My 2g has a bad one in the trunk. I have to slam the ever living shit out it to keep the interior lights from flipping on off the whole time I going down the 1/4th.

  • 4 secs to 60?

  • Sir, your door seems to be open!

  • your door is open

  • Damn I miss my talon. Smexy pull mang

  • no wonder you got a shepard trans sweet

  • @peifarmer1 Thanks! Yes, it's a requirement for any high rpm shifting.

  • i have a 90 just like this one runing stock. i get to 140 and the whole car shakes from air underneath pushing up. so how did u combat this?

  • What a BEAST!

  • style of 1990/91 talon's are the best , 2gen look to girly

  • @fastsupernova false

  • how did you get rid of your map censor on the intake?

  • @realtreeaphd I use an old HKS VPC, which converts the MAF system to speed density.

  • @turbomiragedude sweet thanks a bunch.....ur talon is sick! haha thanks

  • love how it looks like the doors fly open lol nice

  • hey do you need to run forged internals for it to be capable of running high psi on the turbo or no

  • @slipknot12390 That's too generic of a question, as there are lots of variables to consider. Generally speaking, do you want to run high boost for a long time, safely? Then yes, forged internals are required.

  • @turbomiragedude would i need to run forged crank and the whole nine yards or do i need forged crank rods pistons, ect..

  • I'm not much of an import fan but i like this one. No big wings or loud exhaust, looks like a sleeper and i like that not to mention this thing flat out hauls butt!

  • Dammit son keep your door closed xD

  • Ok so im looking to buy a front wheel drive eagle talon thats running 13 pounds of boost currently, does any1 know if it would be worth getting or if i should look for something else?

  • All Wheel drive i mean sorry.

  • Think you mightve inspired me... I have a 91 Eclipse GSX with BPUs and runs high 13s @95... Ive been trying to sell it, no takers and nobody wants to pay what its worth... Maybe I should build it more like you have.... Your car freakin rocks

  • @batdad187 Thank you and I appreciate that! Hold onto your car and slowly improve it over time. There is lots of enjoyment to be had in making these cars fast, but there's no need to rush it- you'll have more fun that way! Good luck.

  • @turbomiragedude Oh I hear ya... its just that I have 5 cars and I need to liquidate. My main project is an 82 Supra with 88 turbo 3.0, and Im kinda choosing that over the Eclipse. Wish I could keep them all! haha My main concern with the Eclipse is its got 200k on it, stock trans, turbo, diffs... The next step is a big (expensive) one!

  • Miss mine. Sigh... :(

  • verry nice, i got a 92 tsi awd, id love to beef it up. its still kills hondas mustangs and bmw's with 1 simple boost mod. awd forever

  • @Chroniclogical420 Thanks and good luck with your car!

  • how fast will it go

  • this is a safe car,,,,i would do this in this car any day,,,,we ha some kids flip one of the eagle talons in front of my house and they all walked away and the cabin never gave in at all,,,,they fliped at like 80mph and the car looked fine,,,,lol

  • yeah the door being open at 130 probably wouldnt be too good

  • 9000rpm? Holy cow that is crazy. Nice DSM.

  • @nevermissclancom Thanks!

  • Lol! Wow, 0-130 and change in about 14 sec very impressive

  • Like a boss.

    Revving out to 9k, impressive.

    Pulls awesome!

  • @NCDropkickSquad Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • doors open, doors closed, doors open, doors closed haha made me laugh :) btw awesome dsm, keep dsms alive and racing

  • @epibeast885 Haha! Thanks!

  • nice car beautiful pulls good, is there a problem with ur door or is it the fact that ur cars soo fast that the open door logo on the dash keeps wantin to rip the door off the chassis...either way pulls like a freight train haha good work, love the 4g bitch is a beast haha

  • @dastallion420951 Thank you! Regarding the dash light, it's caused by the "door ajar" switch that's wearing out. Hard acceleration makes it think one of the doors has popped open.

  • Nice that 68HTA is nice little turbo. And great website I enjoyed reading your story and installs

  • @92DSM Thank you!

  • finaly a video of someone who can drive driving a dsm to its potential.

  • @AlwaysStuntin612 Thanks!

  • how reliable has this car been for you?

  • @wickedblackcamaro I have driven this car to work (about 40 miles round trip) 4-5 days a week all winter long and 1-2 days a week the rest of the year since I bought it in 2005 and it's never broke down or left me stranded. This built engine has been in a couple of my cars since 2002 needing nothing but basic maintenance. There aren't many 500+ wheel hp cars that can that!

  • @turbomiragedude were are you at i wanna race BTW that car is badddd azzzz props bro

  • Hey man can you tell me how can you rev to 9k? i mean technicly you CAN but im sure you have some kind of internals to help it not emplode?

  • @Rangehadies Just need a cam that makes power in the 9k range. No sense in revving that high if you quit making power at 6k. Need springs that can handle an aggressive cam as well as to control valve float.

  • Nice ride! Quick question though, are you either running a really short ratio gear box, or is your RPM reading that far off?

9k on a stanndard ratio w5m33 gearbox would be about 162 MPH depending on tire size :)

  • @gsxicemaN He was still in 4th gear, im guessing 162 is if he was in 5th?

  • my talon wouldnt be to 100 by that

  • Damn, I wish my Talon Could do the same. Where did you get that turbo and intake from?

  • @ModestMadBomberHD The turbo came from Forced Performance and the intake manifold came from Magnus Motorsports. Both are excellent items that I would highly recommend. The best part is that they are both affordable and will last a long time. Good luck with your car!

  • @turbomiragedude Sweet, Where abouts can you find a good A/C for a 1991 talon?

  • @ModestMadBomberHD That's a tough one - you could try one of the reputable DSM used parts dealers, or replace the parts with reman parts store items. Either way, a proper installation is required.

  • @turbomiragedude Alright. Cause the one i have in my talon is shit.

  • nice

  • dam you could almost notice the gas needle drop a bit

  • Great car, man. What are you tuning with, Link? What comp pistons are you running? What valvetrain?

  • @FenderBassman155 Thanks! In this video I was using an HKS VPC and Keydiver chip, but have since replaced all of that stuff with ECMLink. Check out my website for a complete mod list.

  • @turbomiragedude What internals and valvetrain? Also, what does your timing map look like

  • @FenderBassman155 I purchased this Stage 3 block and head from Buschur Racing 7 years ago. Mr. Buschur doesn't exactly publicize what brand parts are used in his engine builds, so whatever was the best, strongest stuff you could get back then is in there, I'm sure. Oh and my timing map looks very aggressive :-)

  • Ok cool thanks, that's awsome. Are you really only running 25psi and meth/water injection?

  • @tomlawtsiawd You're welcome! Yes, 25psi with a 50/50 mix of water and denatured alcohol. I do have a higher compression engine and run lots of timing, so more boost would mean reducing that timing- which I don't want to do.

  • Nice vid man! I was thinking about running that same turbo. How do you like the FP 68HTA? Do you have any dyno numbers? I have/will have similar mods done to my Talon

  • @tomlawtsiawd Thanks! It's an excellent all-around turbo that is likely the right size for 97% of DSM owners out there. I don't have any dyno numbers, but based on the 1/8 mile trap speed of 104mph and race weight of a little over 3300lbs with driver, it's making north of 500hp to the wheels.

  • Lol @ fuel gauge dipping down during that.

Very fine vehicle you have there, sir.

  • @ArktisFuchs Thanks man!

  • Oh yeah, your door is open! haha!
