  • sounds as good then as it does today!

  • God this gives me goosebumps! Love being able to see where things have developed from. great vid, thanks! :-)

  • I was born a year before this. I always wondered what it was like back when they were approachable, now I kind of know. What fun they all had! Thanks!

  • holy shit.

  • wheres stephan?

  • Oh god. The tassels. The tassels. BT looks so ghetto.

  • they had it then, they got it now

  • One thing we do know...people still dance the same today haha

  • carter's snare drum sounds so shitty haha, his set has come a long way. cool video

  • Carter always smiling!!! Damn!

  • i don't even understand how there are people just walking by like this is nothing. I would pay hundreds to be as close as they are and they are just walking by.

  • the guy in the green hat is blown away lol gets a lil closer at 1.30 lol Boyd kills it at 3.20 sick video

  • Stefan comes in @2:12 with the ponytail

He had a job interview that night

  • Where's Stefan??? Was he born at that date? hahahah

  • @biomorfo hahaha

  • Seems to me Boyd isn't such a featured player/persona like he used to be.

  • mwahahaha 90s style ftw

damn, tho, they're so enthused, so fresh

always loved these super early recordings

  • People are UUUUgly! So funny!!

  • what I love is how carter is always smiling.. even too this day he is always smiling.. having a blast

  • 90's clothes are the best

  • Lol damn straight.

  • Dave Matthews Band doesn't have any crappy songs! But I get what you're saying, the good songs are always too long for radio though, and if they get on, they cut atleast one verse of it, and one chorus ^^

  • Ah the good old days...when you could still hear a melody coming from Boyd's fiddle. These guys sounded great even back then. Carter's drums were tight!

  • wow everyone is so young...

and carter is still sick with the drums

  • Stefan must've had middle school detention and couldnt be there haha.

  • @ShawnyMartin He's there. He's just to the left of Boyd.

  • @ShawnyMartin Stefan was actually there. He's on Boyd's right. just cut out of the video frame

  • Have you seen the Dave Chappell skit when he shows white vs black vs latin dancing to music? I swear this could have been a part of that skit. It's awesome!

  • Get your facts right. Stefan was born in 1974, so at the time of this concert he was 17/18.

  • Man if i would love to have been there and watched DMB when they were 1st startin out

  • Id love to see how carter's set looks at this

  • damn that nature intro is FAST

  • loks carter . always smile !

    he´s the bestt

  • this is what you called instinct talent,..

  • haha its hilarious because some of the other videos, like the satellite one from this concert. Theres like 3 people there. And...what I assume to be later in the concert, theres like 30+

  • Theres a DVD of this concert out

google "Dave Matthews Van Ripers 1992 DVD" and you can find a few sites that sell it.

You can see the crowd start to gather throughout it

  • I remember these days. My friend went to Washington and Lee and DMB played a frat gig there. He called us in late 1992 and said you have to hear this band. We grabbed all the soundboard tapes we could and it was amazing. Small venues, small crowds, and yes that is how people danced. RIP Mr. Moore

  • man....I agree. These people saw early DMB, look at them now compared to this. What a transformation =]

  • i wonder if these people even knew how lucky they were...

  • classic, i love the dancing

  • People looked so retarded in the 90s!

  • haha this is awesome. although i'm glad his voice has matured a bit since those days.. thanks for the vid stouggies

  • I remember seeing him in Greenville at the New Deli, on like a Wed. night I paid 4 bucks, and there were 3 people watching him. All 4 of us had the whole first set to ourselves. I called some of my friens to come and check this guy out. At the end of the night I think there were 10 of us on the dance floor. EPIC.

  • What were you smoking that night, who said he was Dave? Why do you post comments like this, kind of wierd don't you think? What date was this because there are offical sites that analog all solo & full band shows. With a user name such as yourself you sound like a wantabe whatever.

  • Your funny, Your probably not old enough to rembember the Deli, try Mugshots. This should really piss you off, I also saw Widespread at the same bar, same situation, but on a Thursday for about 4 bucks.

  • @Stouggies Dude, if you're going to talk at least make sense when you do. You're sitting here talking shit and all you're doing is making yourself look like an ass.

  • Do you think Dave knew he would be the baddest s*** on Earth just a couple years later? And still is today.

  • hahaha. What's up with Boyd's dancing? You never see that.

  • nice hat dave, lot it!

  • haha is that a hat or just a really really bad haircut? lol

  • haha times have really changed since then.

  • awesome

  • daves amazing but carter deserves all the attention

  • look at the poor dolts who keep walking past like its some country cover band lol

  • MGA PUTANG INA NYONG LAHAT

  • He was born in Jan of 67, so he just turned 25. And yeah, those are some lucky fuckers.

  • Those lucky hicks

  • you can see the beginning of the dave dance in his legs

  • haha check out Listener Supported in 1999. daves wearing the exact same clothes

  • Dave looks really skinny...

  • how does he do those crazy dances at the end, its liek a dave matthews moonwalk

  • hes young his voice is gonna sound like that, if his voice was fried he wouldnt be doing over 80 shows a year

  • yeah dmbfan, his voice really hasnt change, except raspyer and i think it sounds cool anyways..wat about singer(s) from ac dc...they had raspy voices and they were a great band

  • 90's were great. Hahaha, look everybody's style

  • dmbfan10... in 1992 dave was only 25 years old... his voice would change a whole lot from 25-40... His voice is no where nearrrr fried. its at its peak. yeah by the end of his tour its gone, but thats not from smoking. thats from putting on 50+ badass concerts in a summer... at the begining of the tour and during when he gets a few days break his voice is amazing. never better.

  • love the air guitar from the guy in the white shirt with long hair

  • hahahaha XD lil dave XD omg listen to his voice XD sound too weird :P
