@mongitis Thanks, I learned the basics in Buenos Aires Argentina, self taught myself a lot after back in the states. Youtube has been a huge help allowing me to watch other pole dancers and learning from them!

I love this style as well - I actually even took a lyrical dance class recently to help me. The competitions are "trick" heavy so it makes it tough for a competitor to really dance beautifully and incorporate the tricks - only so much time allotted. (although watch B. Dial in pole superstar competition and you will see a beautiful meshing of dance and tricks).

I prefer doing lyrical pole dances like this. It just shows that pole has come a long way from strip clubs and it is now a recognised performing art

The move at 1:17, I actually laughed. Great choreography but there are a lot of moves that don`t go together and that cuts your flow (which is great everywhere else) like the move at 0:48 or 1:30.

Your mind is your only limit. Anyone can pole dance. Just make sure to take care of yourself when you do it and try to find someone that can teach you proper technique and exercises that will help you strengthen the muscles you'll find that you never knew existed =)

I just looked at the uspdf site...i didn't watch all of them, but they are definitely not "classy and artistic" looking. It felt like I was sitting in a strip club, in fact, it was too embarassing to keep watching it while at work so I stopped the videos early! I think if they want TASTEFUL and ARTISTIC, they should use that as a measuring tool. Could the dance be watched in an office work environment without being taken as offensive or raunchy? Yours was with accalades by the office girls.

Thanks! I'm on the X-Pole, and its on spinning, although it can be turned to static by screwing in two pins.

Thanks!!!! The 50 mm is the most commonly found, and is good for your grip strength....thats why I got it...although I was very tempted to get the 45mm. If you are really tiny with small hands and find it difficult to grip the 50mm....the 45 mm would be good. Otherwise.... you should just get the 50mm. Its good for your strength, and if your ever at a club or competition chances are they won't have that 45mm.

And if you get the X-Pole, heads up. The face plate is set up for the UK ceiling joist which are 12" apart vs our 16", so I had to drill a 1/2 inch 2X2 piece of plywood to the ceiling first for stability. It was a bit more work than just popping it up. I'm still making up my mind if I love it that much more than my platinum stages pole which is a lot more easier to move around because its ceiling plate is smaller and has a non-slip plastic piece which grips the ceiling. Good Luck though!!!

You know that it's safe to put the X-Pole just under 1 joist?!

I'm in the UK, and my joists are too wide apart, it's just centered under one right now. X-pole say that this is fine as long as it is central.

Actually I did try that at first but my joist is 1/2 inch to inch wide and I found the ceiling dish didn't stay completely level which caused the spinning rotation to not work properly. I also have pop-corn ceilings which didn't help with keeping it even. But yes, if someone had a ceiling that was smooth, I would hope they wouldn't have the same issue I had. My experience ended up not having that as an option. But thank you for making sure I knew that! I'm wish I had better ceilings. ha ha!
