Peter was my hero those day's. I had a PJ and made really many many hours on prepared hills with only carving carving and on and on. I had this video and it gave me a lot of dreamings in the summertime. Now, more than 20 years later I still carve like hell. For me it means so much to feel the gravity power when the board cut into the snow and my head is flying over it very close. Now Burton doesn't produce their wonderfull Alpine board anymore and I switch to a F2 Speedster which is OK to me.
The PJ was magical. It represented real freedom of speech back then in the 90's! You were real cool with that board.
I still have mine PJ 6.2 in phenomenal condition. Too sad I live in Florida now and cannot use it! But I will one day take it out of the bag and revive those moments! Thank you Jean and Peter. You made a whole generation dream!
aaaah!!!! fabulous I found another PJ (for those who read this; by chance I'm not talking about Pearl Jam.. this is about PJ.. Burton asymetric, race board from early 90-ies.. as Josh, my friend from Montana said, by then Burton produced absolute top quality.. really, I ride that thing every year multiple times (it sure is heavy!! ouch) BUT it is GORGEOUS!!
mine is 5.6 yours 6.2 (eh talking boards) means you're taller than me ;) hey we could hit the slopes together one day, somewhere ;) see ya!
hey yesterday I ordered ''It's Always Snowing Somewhere'' DVD.. should arrive within no time from Burton sales Germany.. if you want a copy, I can burn it for you.. PJ rules, remember? see ya :)
BURTON promo video with PORCH (PJ) soundrack.. 4-5 boarders leaving a chalet (porch) & hitting the slopes lined up exactly for the initial opening Porch secs.. now imagine Porch & Eddie & BURTON pro-team coctail.. to die for!! I saw that video in early 90-ies; BURTON rep in Prague had it.. I was BURTON CZ team medic.. switched to board in 1992 (skied 3x since, pity).. competitions first year sucked, later mega cool.. I wrote to Jake at BURTON if he has it; no reply (yet).. do you know/ have it??
I ride PJ (Peter Bauer & Jean Nerva) asymetric goofy.. the guys created it for themselves & lucky me, I bought it in 1993spending fortune but well invested.. Mum hated me as I spent years savings she had been depositing to my account for years, oops.. but hey I still ride it !! we're talking 209 means Burton quality!!
just watched Peter ride and yeh, it's exactly my board.. it proves the Burton quality.. bought it in 1993 and it's still perfect love it every moment I'm on it!!
I started snowboarding in 1991 thanks to Peter and Jean inspiration. To me together with Craig Kelly, they represent the spirit of snowboarding and fun incomparable to anyone else. The emotions that they still transmit me today are simply indescribable.
But Alpine snowboarding in Extreme is 100% technical!
The two Inventors of Carving in general. If Peter Bauer fell during a Slalom,... he won anyways........ Jean Nerva can make a 360 eurocarve backside continiously! Ride On!

Scream of Consciousness is a snowboarding classic, along with Board with the World, Fear of a Flat Planet and Snowboarders in Exile.
I bought a copy of Scream from the film-maker's girlfriend at the time -- the early 1990s. She met me at a laundromat in Squamish, B.C.
