Go read up on the various translations of that Ayah for "teh lulz" -- "obviously" implies expansion even though that word, or those synonymous, aren't used until well after Edwin Hubble establishes some of the first visible proofs for expansion (redshift-blue shift). Coincidence? No, of course not; chicanery. You'd think if it was true, the book would be less spurious and equivocating.

1) How can you measure the expansion of the universe if you don't know the volume of the universe?

2) How can it be true that there is only one big bang? It starts with an item then a nucleolus->element->planet->st­arts->galaxies->universe-> but what about the void?

The Quran is not a book of science nor was it meant to be but it does encourage humans to explore what is available.

What is explained is not detailed and i do not expect it to be since it was given to ancient people who would otherwise think its rubbish had it been filled with complex descriptions. Everything regarding science was simplified.

Other than the expansion , the separation of water bodies(Seas/Lakes) , mountains having roots and many others affirm my faith.

And the "bang" part is really not a fact, like, say virology.... it's what happened after whatever else that came first, that science is based on.

Most of the universe is this energy. So, this discovery showed us that we do not know what 90% of the universe is made out of. Pretty big discovery in my books.
