It's mainly about the time of day settings. In the two shots with the deep blue water, the sun is quite low. Also, there is a section in the TOD settings towards the bottom called levels. In there you can warp the strength of certain colors. I highly suggest just sitting down with the TOD settings and moving each slider to see what it does. Sometimes it takes a while for the update to happen so wait 10 or so seconds between each slider change.
Cheers dude. I've been messing around with it quite a lot actually, seem to be getting some nice pics out of it. Another question though, the red cross hatched boxes that appear in some levels stay on the screenshot/render, how would I remove those? I've tried allowing certain objects etc etc, but to no avail. Cheers.
I've realized that the quality of the images is somewhat dependent on the resolution that your computer is displaying. I have my resolution set to 2560x1600, so the images come out pretty detailed. There's also a sharpness option in the "Time of Day" settings, but the main issue is your resolution. Set it as high as you can.
I think that resolution will definitely affect your images. :(
To get to the TOD option, click on the terrain menu and pick, "Time of Day" to open the TOD Editor. Then go down to the bottom until you find, "Sharpness".
LMAO! Nice yet funny tutorial!

Is there a way I could grab only the Editor, or do I need to download the demo again.

@brt5470 As far as I know, you need the to get the demo or the game to get the editor.

Uber cool. One thing, kinda new to the whole thing, but how the hell did you get the water to look THAT deep and such a beautiful blue? 0.o

Push CTRL+T to bring up the Objects Selector.
Make sure Visible is selected under Display List.
Type SOLID In the Fast Select box at the bottom. Then click Select All and Hide Selected. :)
That'll get rid of all those striped boxes.

Make sure to level the camera angle so that it's 0, otherwise everything will look warped. :)
