You can't cause a black hole colliding atoms. Black holes can only be created when something is extremely dense with a high amount of energy. If something goes wrong with this experiment, it would be a large atomic explosion, not a black hole.

I support exploration and research of all kinds. However this project makes me nervous. If we can't keep planes in the air (a well proven science by now), how are we ever going to control this?
Creation is built on the foundations of destruction, let's not rush it.
I see this project as comparable to my son racing the highways at whatever speed he likes, always faster of course. Lets see what happens.

@JonKwas If we for every discovery were saying that "god created that and this" then we would still be at the Stone Age. For example why caring about a particle's spin or magnetisism? However because of that for example we can use magnetic tomography, or using the PET, and soooo on.... So LHC by giving answers will give something to the world (no question then why Companies have funded CERN as well- since they will get something in return)
