Species that were once identical after separation and different selection pressures altered slightly. Call it adaptation if you will-the wolf grew heavy white fur to keep warm and blended in with the snow. The mutations that are positive help those individuals survive and pass on their genes resulting in more of that variety, while the negative ones die off and do not pass on theirs. This is why we don't see blind fruit flies, and this is why dingos are abundant in Australia, and wolves in North America. That particular gentic variety was physically suited for its environment.
The Platypus is classed as a 'Monotreme' - an egg laying mammel. This sort of animal was surprising because nobody expected to see a living version of an animal which combined elements of reptile and mammel phsiology but evolution did not only allow for such a being, it absolutely demanded it !

By rational I mean someone who judges first by the empirical data, the facts, and then uses their analytical abilities to discern some sense of reality.
The problem with religions is that they operate by 'first-principles,' they think first and then look at *some* of the data.

Actually HOX genes as they are referred to are one of the most consistently preserved aspects among all large animals. The sequence that places the legs in flies are incredibly closely conserved in humans and amphibians. They have nearly identical early effects in a developing organism. That shows that at some point this probably was in a common ancestor to all of these species.

The ones that found locations to live, food to eat and mates to mate with continued to pass on these genes and other genes needed to survive in there circumstances. Evolution takes time and Natural selection 1 physical change does not make a diferent species. But the diiferent circumstances they encounter in the wild can overtime, lead to an inability mate in the species.

When Australia separated from contact with other contients through continental drift, these populations that were once together, changed and adapted to their surroundings. Species that were once identical after separation and different selection pressures altered slightly. Then through years and years of parents passing on genes to offspring that were selected and helped with adapting to their surroundings.

We all remember that the universe is static and infinite. And therefore the Bible is fake, and anyone who says otherwise is either, stupid or worse evil. So that became the science that helped propel Atheism. And they've been working under that assumption ever since. Now we find that the universe expands and proves the Bible right at the first verse. What evolution shows us is that sometimes black wolves come from white wolves, and sometimes fruit flies are born blind. Survival of the fittest = dead blind fruit fly, and lots of white wolves. Call it adaptation if you will-the wolf grew heavy white fur to keep warm and blended in with the snow. Genetic variety causes there to also be black and grey wolves, but there aren't near as many as white...hmm...The brown short haired dingo lives in hot, brown desert like terrain...hmm...You are trying to say that evolution claims that all of a sudden a dingo would pop out of a wolf, or a of their genes being passed on which furtherI wanted to throw up all over my keyboard while watching this.

The mutations that are positive help those individuals survive and pass on their genes resulting in more of that variety, while the negative ones die off and do not pass on theirs. This is why we don't see blind fruit flies, and this is why dingos are abundant in Australia, and wolves in North America. That particular gentic variety was physically suited for its environment.

The Platypus is classed as a 'Monotreme' - an egg laying mammel. This sort of animal was surprising because nobody expected to see a living version of an animal which combined elements of reptile and mammel phsiology but evolution did not only allow for such a being, it absolutely demanded it !
