I'm gonna state this now: be it 2D or 3D, the Sonic titles will forever show promise to me. Sure, it may have its quirks like with the Sonic 2006's loading times, but what can you do as a fan: bitch about it and give the company headaches for a better game, or will you find SOME means to appreciate what they have done and just wait for the next to come? Seriously, all this "need for the perfect 2D" stuff is giving us casual gamers migraines! Enough bitching already!!

i just noticed sumthin when you climb the walls as sonic, blaze an shadow, how do they attack wit their swords if the swords are in the wall? knuckles has 2 swords which makes it understandable but the other 3 i dont get

I rented this one. I have to say that (even as a Nintendo fan) I feel Sega has received to much hassle over their 3D Sonic games. Really, all that "it has to be a 2D sidescroller" stuff just isn't fair. Nobody hounds 3D Mario games for not having a simple "go from left to right" mechanic. Granted Sonic's primary focus is on his speed making him a less versatile character than Mario when it comes to crossing genres. I don't think this game is THAT great. But 3.9? Wow IGN, that's brutal.

@Rad I always thought Sonic did well crossing genres. It's just people are too hung up on him being ALL about speed, which he isn't and never was. He has more to him than just speed. The Werehog added good combat, the sword added a nice moveset & gave him the ability to fight without slowing down. Sonic's always been one to be a versatile franchise, or has been in the 3-D games. Adding something new to the gameplay is what makes Sonic so unique: From Heroes to this, Sonic's always been fresh.

I think sega rushed this game , because on the nintendo channel on the wii it was there Late December or Early January I thought it would be good and be equiped to play gamecube controller style, its good but could've taken more time and lengthen it.

Ya know, I think Sonic and the Black Knight is really just combining the fast Sonic lvls with the slow, fighting-styled were hog lvls except it's in medeval times and were hog Sonic doesn't exist and you have knuckles, shadow, and blaze in the game.
