  • Could I use buttermilk in place of eggs cause my son is allergic to eggs and also can it be regular flour

  • Lovely dish as usual, Betty. :) I make this myself, but bread them in Italian seasoned breadcrumbs & serve with Italian dressing for dipping. You should try it. :)

  • Looks like your oil was a bit too hot on this one . I've found that the stove is more accurate when adjusting for a proper temperature for oil frying .

  • I think ranch dressing is great for the zucchini. But mix it 1/3 ranch dressing 1/3 sour cream or yogurt and 1/3 cream cheese. Add a couple drops of Tabasco sauce for a little bite.

  • @shaggiest1 It could be that the oil isn't hot enough. Hot oil will hold it in place in an instant.

  • @shaggiest1 i always dredge my zucchini slices on bread crumbs after dipping them into the batter. i hope that helps :)

  • Hey Betty, I will try this later, as I received a zucchini at church today. I noted the Southern accent, where are you from? I'm from Oregon, Eastern side where it is hot and dry in the summers and cold and dry in the winters, but beautiful in the spring and fall.

  • @dgreatest36 Yes, but you need to soak eggplant to remove bitterness first. Also, slice it thinner than zucchini.

  • they're damn good betty made them earlier today...that egg relly did the trick.. ide say salt is a must since zuchinnis are pretty bland... i was usec to making batter for onion rings and shrimp with.. flour corn starch paparika..water.. garlic baking powder.......this is really good with that egg. mm.. tastes healthy and greasey at the same time.. and i like your opinion that fried foods arent that bad if u get your other esentials.. afterall u look like a woman who has taken careof hersel

  • yumm betty i love making myself fried food.. i havent tried this one yet.. i think ill try your batter..frying food every other day like i do can be toll taking on the body but... i eat a lot of oats and other non fried veggies as well as fruit

  • Yes, the hot oil is to be respected. You can get new deep fry pots with controls that are much safer and easier to use than mine. I have had mine forever! Thanks for the nice comment!

  • Obviously, you can deep fry just about anything! I think I will be taking a break from it for awhile!  I think you will love the zuucchini--so mild flavored, in contrast to the dipping sauce! Thanks for your comment!

  • Betty, Your deep fried banana peppers looked so yummy that I've decided to make them for lunch. In fact, I just cleaned the peppers and came over to the PC to double check on the ingredients for the batter. While doing so, I caught this new video of your fried zucchini's here--and thought I'd drop you a line to tell you that I'm making those along-side the peppers for lunch as well!. Thanks for some great lunch ideas and also for being so clear on the ingredients and directions.
