I think I just lost it when the mother pulled the pin, realized she threw the pen then throws it to her kid. XD OMG that so would NOT fly today, but that is so damn funny!
What bank decided to give a guy named Barf the loan that would allow him to build a personalized restaurant? What kids would eat at that restaurant? It's as if this show takes place in south jersey.
This show came out on YTV when it went on the air in the late 1980's in Canada. I miss YTV back then because it had good shows, not the nonsense and garbage it has had for the past 6 years.
IF YTV had any fortitude to show this again, I'll watch YTV again...
I am in awe of this show. lol Ross. Next thing on my agenda is Rocko's Modern life. .^_^. (Then legends of the hidden Temple, Salute your shorts, Hey dude, David the gnome, then way beck to dummi bears, rainbow bright, Thunder cats!!!, He-man, TMNT, ......wow, this is going to be a long night...lol
@GenerationXeroFilms you know that block on Teennick The 90s Are All That well I know this show was made in the 80s, but they should still put that on there
i used to watch this when i was like 5. the intro is hella disturbing and when barth's face got all cut up it used to scare me as a child. he is pretty disgusting to look at though.
Somebody has to post the ep "Weather" where Christine introduces the show covered on a winter cap and a heavy coat, then seductively removes it to reveal a red raincoat and then rips it off, showing off a gray and black two-tone bathing suit! Does anyone else remember this too?
@disconnected22 kids today aren't pussies; if anything, kids back then were. Who do you think are the ones complaining about violence on TV today? The kids back then, who couldn't handle this stuff.
It's true but the sad thing is its OUR generation that are raising the little cockgoblins. I think it was the "self esteem" craze of the 90's. Everyone's special my ass. Everyone's an asshole.
I remember this s how used to crack me up...at least the kids on this show looked like normal every day kids...not like now where all you see are the cookie cutter type plastic kids on the disney channel
"Do you have the one where the kid is in a diaper?"
--
I'm a child of the 80s and grew up on this show. I remember almost every sketch, every episode. No way can you forget something this damn good.
The "Kid in a diaper" was Kevin Kubachesky (sp?). Lance (the father) had lost the family photo album and was trying to take pictures of Kevin as Kevin appeared as a child.
The punchline at the end goes something like "Now let's go take that picture of you naked on the front lawn."
No I'm talking about the episode where they make him wear a really large diaper after he wets the bed. I don't know why but I remember that episode for some odd reason.
nickelodean was great back then. it's so weird seeing this because all of these scenes are etched in my memory but haven't thought about them in over 20 years. i always felt bad for the kids on the show when i was little though, the adults seemed so mean...back then they did at least. nick was def. different back then, after this pete and pete was the only other show that was really good and way ahead of its time. the stuff they have now could never compare to this.
I was 9 when this was aired was the best show of its time.
I remeber so vividly sitting with my GI Joes watching YCDTOT. I can still see the same visuals of my childhood watching this again. :D Thanks for posting it!

The series was indeed one of the best kids shows ever on Nickelodeon along with excellent acting. Too bad I can't find reruns in the U.S.A. anymore then again I don't have cable so scratch that. Wish there was a website where they could just post all the episodes or better yet, release them all on DVD if not already :)
holy shit I've wrecking my brain for so long about how this show was called!!! Then they made a joke about it in some family guy episode and showed the name and i immediately looked it up on you tube. Finally!!! I loved this so great to see this again!
Holy crap....I remember every word of the Pinwheel song! Man, those were the days...I used to fake being sick so I could stay home and watch pinwheel. Does anyone remember that show that was set in a department store, and there was the mannequin guy who came alive after the store closed?? That was one of my other favs.
Hey I remember this episode... I could never forget the disgusting cook. I use to find it unbelieveable that ppl got divorced or seperated.... not so anymore... mine are seperated, and here I thought it was just tv families... oh well
@landrykkb You're saying "it wasn't appropriate subject matter", which is another way of saying "you can't do that on television".... which really makes it perfectly appropriate. ;)
It was just fine, then, or now. The problem is the uptight idiot adults. South Park has them portrayed almost perfectly - with the exception of the SP adults being hands-off. If real adults were so medling-free, kids (and society) today would be SO much better off.
Moose is married with kids. She didn't do much acting after she left YCDTOTV in 1986, but moved into production work instead, working for TVOntario and the CBC. Oh, and judging from the pictures taken of her at the "SlimeCon" reunion in Ottawa a couple of years ago, she still looks A LOT like she did in the '80s.
