As you demonstrate, massage is a perfect way to to complete a yoga practice. In fact yoga can be seen as a form of massage, or maybe it's the other way around. I've been working for the last couple of years on developing a ten-minute self-massage to complement a yoga practice just before Shavasana. I hope to put it out as a youtube video soon.
These techniques are drawn from anatomy, acupressure, reflexology, Thai yoga massage, and craniosacral therapy. They are quick, effective ways to calm the body without being too invasive. I do some of them [not all at once] on my students during savasana. They LOVE it. Also, you can try it at home on a stressed-out partner after a long bath. It's a real romantic treat. xoxooSadie
