  • mi madre me abando too soy alkolico now

  • love this song. Heard it from spanish class, but honestly that has nothing to do with this song. This song's meaning is so strong and powerful. I feel bad for him. Having such a bad childhood :/

  • I learned this song in Spanish class. It was akward the first time I heard it.

  • This song just makes me wanna bawl...I feel like the emotion in this song can only be shown through beautiful, flowing, Spanish....poetry in action

  • recuerdos que me trace essa musica, no de mi vida, pero de lo que pensava com ella

  • They use this song to all spanish classes is my guess. my teacher just showed it to us to show us how the preterite form is common and how to use it

  • juanes buena rola entiendo todo

  • Ms. Dominguez showed me this !

  • glad i take spanish

  • sad story, but the music is great :)

  • I really like this song

  • iHeard this Song in Spanish and iAlmost Cried.

  • This song mainly taught us how to merge our vowels in speech. :o like "que un día" became "quen día"

  • Señora Leathers

  • Great spanish song, although the producers must be miffed that the song is used mainly for spanish preterite

  • heard this song in spanish class aswell

  • Learned The Song In Spanish Class As Well

  • I can relate to the song, although I never lived on the streets, I often felt abandoned. I was very poor and full of dreams. Everything just broke to pieces in front of me and I was left with less than nothing. No love, no money, no family, no friends, no one, a waste of talent and intelligence; that's how I felt. Now I'm doing a little bit better, still unemployed though.

  • Pienso que esta canción es tan bonita y poderosa. Me gusta mucho.

  • learned this music today in spanish class ^^

  • @kAlAkTHEONLYONE Moi aussi

  • @bagadouer ^^

  • La primera vez que yo vi el video para esta cancion.

  • Holy Shit. This song is powerful.

  • Sa pue la merde

  • i love this! i love Juanes old music

  • Teaches the preterit, not the imperfect. Nothing sad about using it in a Spanish class.

  • es una autobiagrafia de juanes

  • c'est genial , magnifique

  • its sad that spanihs teachers are using this to teach spanish

    in anti child abuse month

  • Learned this song in spanish class too ^^

  • @chihuahua1number1 We also:D

  • @chihuahua1number1 I just learned it today.

  • @chihuahua1number1 Who didn't? I just did too

  • Juanes por que cambiaste este tipo de música por canciones como el yerbatero que decepción vuelve hacer música como esta la cual refleja el estado actual de millones de personas en el mundo

  • Esta canción es tan triste... Me hace llover.. :(

  • tengo triste cuando me escucho a esto cancion.....

  • why are all the comments in english?

  • the song is nice, but i think the video is really bad

  • love you juanes!!!!

  • the guys who made this song must be pretty pissed that it is used not to promote international awareness of poverty, but to teach english-speaking americans how to use the imperfect

  • @11dorisa odio americanos, viva colombia hp!

  • @11dorisa LOL! I learned this in Spanish class as well.

  • @11dorisa I couldnt agree any more, but it does teach english speaking american who want to learn how to use the imperfect about poverty stricken country

  • @11dorisa, yeah we used this to learn imperfect, i looked up the true meaning. I was sad.

  • @11dorisa

I would disagree. While we did indeed use it to help further our knowledge of the Spanish language, we also took to heart these lyrics and were made aware of some conditions we were know aware of, which followed with a culture project to learn just how accurate these lyrics are. I don't think that teaching someone your language, culture, and something of the state of your fellow citizens is something to be mad about. Just my opinion though.

  • @11dorisa My mother lenguage is spanish, actually I come from the same country of the singer. I never thougth that american or any english speaker know this song, that's something good, it doesn't matter how you knew this song, the really important thing is that you understood it.

Here we learn englis with imegine by John Lennon, I don't belive that if John were alive he would be pissed because of that

  • @11dorisa Best Youtube comment I've read all week.

  • I'm guessing they're glad so many people ARE hearing their message AND it's a tool for us gringos to hear the PRETERITE (not imperfect) with the benefit of authentic, beautiful music. I can confidently say most of my English-speaking, Spanish-learning American students are truly impacted by songs like these - not just by the grammar lesson. Please give us teachers some credit.

  • @kpasa13 I agree. I'm a student in Del Campo. I'm currently in Spanish 2. My teacher used this to help teach us the preterite. Now that I can understand these lyrics, I can understand the message. I now think this is my favorite song in a different language. Hooray for teachers! Also, I love your username.

  • @11dorisa OMG, you too!!!

  • @11dorisa I don't understand what do you mean?

  • @YarieA31 i was just making a joke that the creators of the song must have never imagined how much this song would be used by spanish teachers to teach preterite grammar. they created it with the intention of spreading awareness about poverty, but it ended up being far more famous for it's classroom usefulness. i found it funny, that's all.

  • @11dorisa The song uses the preterite, not imperfect...

  • Comment removed

  • @11dorisa lol, I learned this song in spanish class too

  • @11dorisa

Actually it's to teach the preterite form. But yeah, I get what you're saying. This song is so sad :(

  • @11dorisa lmfao my teacher use this song to teach us the imperfect in spanish too.. and i'm from Denmark o.O

  • @PersianAfghan

Hahaha same here, she also taught us the imperfect hahaha =)

  • @11dorisa preterit tense actually. Would't you consider it a good thing that the students are using an authentic source? It is a lot more meaningful with a context to teach an otherwise dry subject.

  • UGH, we had 2 listen 2 dis in spanish class AND SING IT! we had 2 sing it like 20 times, cuz some jerks decided dat dey were 2 good 2 sing it! UGH!... i love d song though
