@thughes218 The Saudis have no excess capacity they have been saying this for years and no one believes them, they are now currently using harder methods to produce oil like the oil sand process which is extremely expensive. The days of easy cheap oil are over and the IEAE says the world is running out of known reserves and to increase production is extremely expensive.

@jezza1789 When Libya's oil exports declined, Saudis and others able to increase exports to replace it. With Libya's exports now increasing and global demand flat, some excess production capacity is there and probably enough to offset Iran's exports.
Agreed no more cheap, easy oil. Saudis using advanced extraction techniques, like steam / gas injection, but haven't read they are producing from oil sands like Canada does (profitably at current crude prices.)
