Had a major puter crash and been putting my "life" back together in Vista.

Doo Wopper, did u get message I sent to you regarding a song possibly titled "Back to School"?

BTW, I agree, Clanton always sounded sort of whiny and nasal but this song was so different and sooooooo good and soooooo neglected.

"Back to School" Refresh my memory? Any idea who did it? Can you remember any lyrics? There are so many songs with "Back to School" in the title, "Back to School Again", "I'm Going Back to School" etc. Hey, don't knock VISTA, I love it! It's better & faster than XP if you know how to tune it! If your not using a wireless go into MSCONFIG & disable everything in startups except for antivirus. By the way, I have 30 computers, 5 run all the time & I don't use any antivirus, it slows them down!

Early 60s; as I recall the guy sang the lyrics "back to school" over and over and girls in background would sing..."yeah yeah yeah yeah" in between; then he gets to a point where he says who they will see back at school and starts rattlin' off names real fast without taking a breathe. Ran across this info last week: Sammy Jackson - Back To School Blues on Arvee. This may be it. Heard a 30 sample on Amazon...can't tell for sure. Ironically, the song will not be available until this Aug.

Never heard this. I'm not a Jimmy Clanton fan, but I really like the Crewe/Linzer/Gaudio infuence.

Ran out of room but that's basically it. Also, So far, I'm liking Vista....with 6 gigs of ram and 750 hard drive, all I need now is to get rid of my wife so I can have more playing time!

All these years and I didn't notice Bob Gaudio listed as one of the writers. My 45 of this song has so much groove damage......this is the first time I have heard it so clean in about 40 years.

I noticed your a Ray Stevens fan? I posted some obscure tunes by him on PREP & MERCURY that you may want to check out. I had posted many more obscure tunes but YT knocked them off, copywrite infrigments, can't blame them I guess.
