@theofbecause Press e and i to bring up the inventory and equipment bars. The first icons just add items to the inventory. Note that the example appears to have been updated since this video was made.

@TheLegofish sorry but you'll have to be more specific. If your asking in general, than there is no quick fix. you have to follow tutorials (written ones are best for this and can be found on the yoyogames site) and learn by making games.
