Loved this episode, this along with the Obama and the Scarface-parody episodes was my favorite. It was hilarious, offensive and almost touching. Definitely an episode that's gonna piss of the average viewer but i believe the average Boondocks-fan should love it.
I actually thought the constant, over-the-top racism coming from white characters in this episode was meant to reflect badly on the racists themselves. The plot made it clear that their hate is based entirely on ignorance and pettiness. It wasn't meant to insult black people, it was to insult people who hate black people. pretty much calling them morons.
Despite the fact that this episode was very hard to watch and laugh at (and rightfully so), it was still a good/powerful episode because of how it so mercilessly satirizes white racists (for the most part). I remember when a whole bunch of closet and overt racists praised McGruder over his Obama episode (even though it wasn't really about him), calling him a "genius". But every since this episode aired, now he's a "nigger"! They don't like it when the truth's on them!
@Yohko86 That would also probably explain why the latest Boondocks clips haven't been getting a ton of views like the Obama clips have been. The Obama episode clips have almost 1 million views, while others, while still strong on intelligent satire, are struggling to get even 50,000! If those same people thought he was such a genius, you'd think that they would continue to support after one episode! But it seems as long as McGruder is "against" Obama, he'll have their undivided attention! LOL
You know what? I'm kind of glad some people thought it was over the top when it wasn't. Just goes to show that this show is powerful enough to deliver a message no matter what it is.
This episode was kind of a letdown, especially considering that we were all expecting the stinkmeaner episode last week (In seasons 1 and 2, the 4th episode was a stinkmeaner episode). I got the message in this episode, I just didn't think it needed to be delivered following about 24 different extremely racist songs.
The Hateocracy will certainly make up for it, though. No doubt.
I Love this show to death and find 90% LOL funny, but this episode went a little too far even for the boondocks. FACT: The voice of the guy that yelled "Get that nigger of the stage!" is Rob Paulsen. A man who has done way too many voices to list in a YouTube comment. In other words, look him up and you'll recognize his roles. He was also the voice of Gray Fox, in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
BTW, this episode was funny, disturbing, and strangely heartwarming. The irony was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

Not every fuckin' episode has to revolve around humor. I know the Boondocks is satire but damn, hopefully everyone will be happy with the new Stinkmeaner episode next week.

What seems to be the issue, is that they cheapen on the voice acting and there seems to be the problem. They seem to use the character, but the any voice by it, great example was the Dodge ball game where you had Tom, Cindy, Butch, the old lady. There were all there and never spoke. And compare it to the game Riley had, Jasmine and her mom had a voice

Riley had about 3 lines and Ed had about one,but what was worse was that Cindy didn't even speak throughout the entire episode,so by the end I was asking,"what was even the point of having her,Butch Magnus,Tom,Jasmine,and Sara(her mom) in the episode if they all barely said one word,if anything?"

You know what? I'm kind of glad some people thought it was over the top when it wasn't. Just goes to show that this show is powerful enough to deliver a message no matter what it is.

This episode was kind of a letdown, especially considering that we were all expecting the stinkmeaner episode last week (In seasons 1 and 2, the 4th episode was a stinkmeaner episode). I got the message in this episode, I just didn't think it needed to be delivered following about 24 different extremely racist songs.
The Hateocracy will certainly make up for it, though. No doubt.

I Love this show to death and find 90% LOL funny, but this episode went a little too far even for the boondocks. Im Part black and i felt unconfortable watching this episode, .It was nothing but insult after insult, not even in a cleaver or eye opening way. I noticed that the greater majority who found this episode the best and amazing where white, or anything but black.

@MonkeyPowers: 2 racist people were the main characters, so I guess that's to be xpected. While Jimmy was racist it was only because most black people he met were ignorant and foolisht and he thought others felt the same. But then he realized that some people just hate you regardless of your attitude so there was some payoff for all the racism earlier in the episode.

FACT: The voice of the guy that yelled "Get that nigger of the stage!" is Rob Paulsen. A man who has done way too many voices to list in a YouTube comment. In other words, look him up and you'll recognize his roles. He was also the voice of Gray Fox, in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
BTW, this episode was funny, disturbing, and strangely heartwarming. The irony was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

What people don't understand is that this episode is about irony.
Ruckus is a self hating black man who sings with a racist singer. Ruckus then changes Jimmy's perception of black people and make him not "as racist as he used to be" towards blacks at least. Not every fuckin' episode has to revolve around humor. I know the Boondocks is satire but damn, hopefully everyone will be happy with the new Stinkmeaner episode next week.

@pulloutsange This show is more of a social commentary and from my perspective just outlines the absurdity of racism by taking alot of todays social events and those that happened to have racial implications and mocking giving people something to laugh at but think about at the same time.If you only focus on words like "nigger" and "spic" and miss the context of what someone is saying then you yourself only slow the progression of understanding.

@TheSlickAndroid: Huey is still the main character for the most part as he was a strong force in episode 1 and three was definitely all about him. What seems to be the issue, is that they cheapen on the voice acting and there seems to be the problem. They seem to use the character, but the any voice by it, great example was the Dodge ball game where you had Tom, Cindy, Butch, the old lady. There were all there and never spoke. And compare it to the game Riley had, Jasmine and her mom had a voice

Riley had about 3 lines and Ed had about one,but what was worse was that Cindy didn't even speak throughout the entire episode,so by the end I was asking,"what was even the point of having her,Butch Magnus,Tom,Jasmine,and Sara(her mom) in the episode if they all barely said one word,if anything?"
