I got a Chiappa reproduction 1887, and just bought a loader to make some black powder loads for it. Are you using plastic hulls with standard plastic wads? Or using felt/card wads like classic BP cartridges?

Plastic cartridges pre-primed. Plastic cups dowsized and self-splitt. Overshot paper wad.

Why a plastic cup? Because I use iron shot. I want to protect the barrel.

I guess with a replica that is no problem ! You can use any wad you like. But look at your shot pattern.
