hey i used the same type of spaz stix paint (orange, red, purple, gold) and did about 6 coats before backing it with the gloss black and it didnt come out nearly as vibrant or bright as yours. What was your method brotha?
...i used 2 spray cans. directions say you should get 2 bodies per can. but it also says the more coats you do, the better the color and effect. i then backed with a gloss black.
unfortunately, since there was so much paint on it and i used the wrong type of paint to back it, it's all chipped off the lower portion of the body from the plastic flexing on impacts. some day i'll strip all the paint and redo it but for now i just use another body.
i plan to do this effect but with my own colours. im gona layer a think translucent blue, back it with this, and then with black. I hope to achieve a blue to black shift.
except that there are 4 colors, depending on the light and angle. this video was made before i backed it with black, which makes the colors stand out.
unfortunately, after several crashes and bumps the paint has started to chip. this was my first paint job and did it a bit too thick which is why it's chipping.
Was this the Spaz Stiks paint? I've heard from more than one person that 1 can of paint isn't enough. I used a whole can on my first revo body and it was very transparent. Has something to do with the butaine in the aerosol.
Yeah, it's Spaz Stix. There's more info to the right of the video window (just click "more info").
I read somewhere, possible on the can, that you can get 2 bodies out of 1 can. I painted this 1 body with 2 cans, then backed it with gloss black (suggested by the spaz stix website). You need to back it to lose the transparency and get the colors to 'pop'.
It was my first try at painting. I didn't find out until after, but you're supposed to get 2 cars out of 1 can. I did 1 car with 2 cans. But with this paint, the more layers you put on the more effect the paint has.
How do I get this spaztix stuff? I don't think hobbytown has it.

wat steps did u take to make it look like that
jayon101 1 year ago
@jayon101
clean body with dish soap to remove any oils or debris and dry with lint-free towel, air dry, can use hair dryer
apply window masks or liquid masking or just tape, shake spray can, spray evenly in light coats,
use hair dryer to completely dry paint before spraying another coat,
when you're done back with a proper color
(white for bright/neon colors, black for deep color, gold or silver for metallic or pearl)
use paint made for lexan plastic!
