  • Good job! Excellent tempo, lots of drama in the right places.

  • A beautiful piece well played.

  • Great Sonata- I've playing this one for a while now. Not easy that's for sure.

  • Very confident and assured piano playing - as lourak said, a very strong and thoughtful dynamic range. All that coughing must have driven him bonkers, though.

  • Beautiful

Love this sonata and listening to this has made me feel so much better

    thank you

  • this is the best interpretation of the 15 sonata on youtube

  • am i the only one who turned around to check if there's no one behind him after hearing the cough @6:57

    xD

  • One of my favorite unknown pieces.

  • beautiful sound...

  • Now I am playing this sonata. I love it!

  • @pelldelluna5 Me too! It's my teacher's favourite sonata and might just be mine. :)

  • not bad...but the backhaus's interpretation is really most expressive and natural...

    nice try!

    :D

  • Lovely sonata. I hate specially the way in which Gulda played it, irreverently fast, emotionless...

  • Allegro?

  • Personally, I feel Wilhelm Kempff's interpretation of this sonata more pleasing, albeit his recording's poor sound quality.

  • Even though Ory's not my favorite person anymore, (we used to date, he's not a very good bf) However, it was always pure joy to hear him practice. He's an absolutely brilliant and humble pianist!! Who the heck cares about his hair...BTW he's got really great hair.

Bravo Ory, it's absolutely beautiful! (now for your interpersonal relationship skills...;)

  • wonderful!

  • Insane.

  • don't like his use of rubato... too much

  • I agree

  • Beautiful playing overall.. But I must say, I don't know if a piece of this character calls for such spastic hand motions...

  • i guess this is the sonata that Beethoven dedicated to the enlightenment reformer von Sonnenfels.

  • 有幾個地方彈得非常好

  • nice dude.. really good : )

  • 5:55 :(

  • What? It's perfectly fine to me. I play this piece. It seems easy but it's very difficult.

    Nice performance, Ory Shihor!

  • I believe he is referring to the movement's first tonicization of a minor key. Use your ears people! Don't let the success or failure of the performer hinder your ability to listen to the actual music!

  • i haven't played it myself, but i've heard that it is actually quite difficult to interpret.

  • i love playing this

  • peace, grace and enchanted happiness, the best way to describe this sonata, innocent tenderness, and thus this 1st movement, long live ludwig van

  • Yor performance is very beautiful

  • what grade is this would you say?

  • it's grade 8 Ameb which would be about associate ABRSM, if that makes any sense

  • thanks

  • in rcm its grade 10

  • This is one of my favourite Beethoven sonatas and you play it beautifully. Thank you for posting

  • brilliant pianist, i love the way he interporates the music, but terrible hair.

  • I like how after he plays so amazingly he puts his hand up to fix his hair

  • haha yeah!

  • Ooo, wonderfuly played. And it's great to hear something other than the Pathetique/Moonlight sonatas! So far I'm only familiar with the opening section of this piece but it's so beautiful, and melancholy.. sort of reflective

  • I'm playing this song right now.but i still

can't do it beautiful like your voice~

it's too hard to say.how beauty you got!

Nice~I hope I could playing it like that.

  • WOW!

(I know it's a stupid thing to say, but there are no words...).

  • yup im starting to like music with no words actually. 5/5

  • Your video made the hairs raise on my arms - absolutely beautiful articulation, technically flawless, moving performance!

  • He is very perfessional and plays all Beethoven sonatas like an angel. (And he's my teacher!)

  • you're one lucky guy...

  • Thanks. You should have heard him play the Pathetique Sonata. [I think] He played it the way Ashkenazy would.

  • I'm playing this song right now... Looking at this makes me understand about this beautiful piece much more better... tell your teacher i said thanks for putting up such an incredible performence(just kidding) ;)

  • then aren't you a lucky bastard

  • @Legomyegoorj Uaooo I envy you!! so good interpretation, congraz!

  • What a lovely performance! Quite a dynamic range - and it's wonderfully refreshing that he takes his crescendos to the very end without pulling back.

  • So yea, this is pretty flawless.

    Those interpretations are beautiful.
