What a great tune here! A lot of people watching these don’t realize that these rolls don’t actually play themselves and come out this way.
They require a great “Band Leader” behind the controls! It is very nice to hear piano roll music on a nice sounding instrument “played well” and recorded well!
@awardaudio Thank you sir. While the holes are automatic, the way they are presented and what one does when they cross the tracker is really up to the pianolist. Your Pianola has a wonderful piano to go with it, but you could put it up to any piano and you would have to "re-learn" how that piano responds with your Pianola.. no minor detail. My "pianola" is embedded, and I have had years to learn it's response. Appreciate your kind words and understanding.
Confrey was good/great...but my favorite roll of his..(I know this is gonna sound so apple pieish) but Sheik of Araby...took me a while to get the left hand down..
@aknabea Yes, he was the master of the novelty piano music in my opinion, whether he was playing his own compositions, or someone else's. His ministrations were as complex as one gets, and I am not sure how many understand the difficulty in composing and playing such peices... but it sounds like you do.... I could only dream of being able to play anywhere close to this level. Thanks again!!!
