Nice 2 see how u start off ur pics 2 finish.I study off ur pics 2 get better ^^;Btw,How do u know how 2 shade in ur character when u just put an arrow 4 where the lighting iz? ._.
Each person does it differently, but it's a starting point to picture where the sun or light would be, obviously. It helps some people, and some people don't need it. ^^ It's more of trying to grasp the feel of depth and where the light would hit, and where it wouldn't. There's not always a correct answer. It's purely about practice, really, to obtain the feel of it. A little difficult even for me, but I'm learning.
well.. to be honest, I don't even use the arrow trick when I normally draw, I only use it in Speed paints to indicate to the audience, where the light is coming from, I use to use the arrow technique when I first started learning how to add depth to my characters. Now that I know the anatomy and how light falls I don't need that arrow anymore. its just a matter of how much knowledge you have about the subjects you are working with.

okay, after watching this about 5 times, I think i found something wrong. If the light is aimed at Ash's head, why is the moon behind her?
It looks awesome tho x3

It comes with experience, time and study [and knowing where all the muscles are]
Making good art takes a while to master
But that's just my opinion, wait for her to answer xD
