What I used to do when I was out of ammo was get behind a bomber and destroy the tail and part of the fuselage with my propellar. It was pretty cool when some He-111 was flipping out of the sky and I was just going to crash land it. Also with a Me-109 once I crashed right through the wing of a Pe-8 on accident when I was following a Mig-3!

I do similar things, but try to clip the wing with my landing gear. Keep flying and come around for round 2!
