Was anyone else in Gears 3 expecting some big ass twist like the locust queen being Marcus' mother? She looked a little to fucking human to be locust. So I wouldn't have been surprised.

@rsanti12956 He knew about the Locust and Lambent before the Locust had actually attacked. He made a deal with the queen that he would find a solution to their Lambent problem in order to stop them from invading. But he was taking too long so that's what caused the Locust to attack...they kept him prisoner so that he could work on killing all the Lambent.

The comic states that locust were actually made to stop war. But they created a new one. Of course everyone knows that the queen is marcuses mother. 2 things i don't get though.. first, lambent are locust who are exposed to high levels of immulsion there locust though. why are locust fighting with locust. Lambent + Locust could maybe even take over the entire human race. Maybe in gow3 marcus will convince his mother to get locust to pair up with cog to overpower lambent.
I have a theory of my own. I think the humans created the locust. In gears 2, the lab held some "unsuccessful" experiments of half humans half locust. Exposure to imulsion gives humans rustlung. Exposure to imulsion makes locust more deadly or something.
I also think that the locust queen is Marcus's mom. Otherwise, why does she look so human?

@DoTMikazi Adam didn't mutate his wife. In the book Anvil Gate, his wife found a new species of a certain lifeform ( I think it was a rat with six legs ). She found this new species in the Hollow. I believe she went in there and something happened (Locust transformed her into the queen, brainwashed her?) and thus she had to evolve the locust for 30 years plus when marcus was very young.

@kingbobchris I know, in the book is says that when he was 10 his mom was killed in a work related accident, Marcus's dad never told him that she died. But yeah if it is his mom that would be cool haha.

If your a Big fan of Gears of War like I am. I really suggest all to read or listen to the three books that are out. You will live them. And a new book is coming out rite before the game comes out it work as a prequel.
My idea is, since the water has now flooded the Inner Hollow and Nexus, the water may mix with the Imulsion. This would cause more Locust to get contaminated and turn into Lambent. Not to mention increased contamination of Imulsion resulting in even more mutation for the Lambent. Cliff Bleszinski said himself that the land they will be fighting on is man-made. A sort of "float." We will see how it all turns out in a few days when the GoW3 is released.

The Locust were already in dissaray before the hollow was sunk, Now the COG forces are unorganised and scattered. You'd think theyd both be screwed but the Lambant is more of a force of nature than a fighting force. A bit like the flood in Halo just not as smart (and waay cooler:) so persoanally i dont think that Locust and COG will unite plainly for the reason the locust is are direct reason that 95% of humans on Sera died in the hammerfall...and that is a LOT to forgive

The comic states that locust were actually made to stop war. But they created a new one. Of course everyone knows that the queen is marcuses mother. 2 things i don't get though.. first, lambent are locust who are exposed to high levels of immulsion there locust though. why are locust fighting with locust. Lambent + Locust could maybe even take over the entire human race. Maybe in gow3 marcus will convince his mother to get locust to pair up with cog to overpower lambent.

I have a theory of my own. I think the humans created the locust. In gears 2, the lab held some "unsuccessful" experiments of half humans half locust. Exposure to imulsion gives humans rustlung. Exposure to imulsion makes locust more deadly or something.
I also think that the locust queen is Marcus's mom. Otherwise, why does she look so human?

@TheDarthPancakes Locust are a real species on this Earth (they are similiar to a grasshopper) and the lab in GoW2 looks like they were trying to mutate them, but if released early they are violent and are hostile (Sires). But have you seen how many locust there are? If Adam Phenix mutated his wife for the creation of human like Locust and she went along with it, why would she turn all of them against the Human race?

@DoTMikazi Adam didn't mutate his wife. In the book Anvil Gate, his wife found a new species of a certain lifeform ( I think it was a rat with six legs ). She found this new species in the Hollow. I believe she went in there and something happened (Locust transformed her into the queen, brainwashed her?) and thus she had to evolve the locust for 30 years plus when marcus was very young.

@TheDarthPancakes Oh, well the Locust species cannot have a King, so that does make sense and they most likely just gave her clothing because she doesnt look mutated (might have to look closer) and since she was the only female to visit them early on they must have gaven her a choice get eaten or be made the Queen of all of them.

@spartanifying possibly you never know haha one thing that is a theory too is that there is an old tyran legend (tyran is the people in Gears that live in sera of course) that a young girl was embraced by a "six legged demon" and took her to live among it's kind, this was specified in the books and maybe this girl was the queen and the "six legged demon" was a corpser O.o the legend took place even before the pendulum wars so maybe she thought the humans were unworthy cause they fight oneanother

My idea is, since the water has now flooded the Inner Hollow and Nexus, the water may mix with the Imulsion. This would cause more Locust to get contaminated and turn into Lambent. Not to mention increased contamination of Imulsion resulting in even more mutation for the Lambent. Cliff Bleszinski said himself that the land they will be fighting on is man-made. A sort of "float." We will see how it all turns out in a few days when the GoW3 is released.

The Locust were already in dissaray before the hollow was sunk, Now the COG forces are unorganised and scattered. You'd think theyd both be screwed but the Lambant is more of a force of nature than a fighting force. A bit like the flood in Halo just not as smart (and waay cooler:) so persoanally i dont think that Locust and COG will unite plainly for the reason the locust is are direct reason that 95% of humans on Sera died in the hammerfall...and that is a LOT to forgive
