Paowalee Pornpimon is wonderful in this film, which probably should have stated loosely based on the life of Pumpuang. So much is left out, including the last 5.5 years of her life. They probably only got away with as much as they did as her first husband died the year after the film ends. Most biog pics do less than justice to the subject, but here the music is most important and as such the film is a triumph.One day the true story might get told, but only after those concerned are long gone.
