  • guys whats better vertex paint or uv mapping ???? plz helpa ty :3

  • @Gh0StSecurity UV mapping gives way better results butt its very dificult to use

  • It's better to use textures

  • @maxrocks1929 It sure is, but this is a feature in blender and I was just showing how it could be used.

  • when I try to paint in blender, the paint hides all the shadows and highlights...I'm a newby at this...could someone help me please? thanks ; )

  • so does this just add colour?

  • When I render current frame my model just turns grey

  • I have the same problem as milafa007, my model stays white when I switch to texture mode, can anyone help??

  • Do more tutorials... your good.

  • it stays white when i put in on textured what do i need to do?

  • @milafa007 I haven't done this in so long so I don't really remember. It might be because you're using a newer version than the one I used in the video.

  • @h3sniperman thx but i already have it. it was a bug or something. but i don't know how i fixed it.

  • @milafa007 If you are using 2.49 and it still is white, then you may have of not set the opacity of the paint enough

  • so how do we paint the hair?

  • hey how do i change the color of the background when it renders|??

    it's always blue

  • @TheGoldenlegend1 You change the colour in the settings in the 'world' tab. It's icon is a little planet.

  • @h3sniperman I press "p" to preview it and the paint just dissappears... What am I doing wrong?

  • @LiquidTurtles It may be something to do with the version you're using. This is a very old video and this version of blender is out of date.

  • hey how do you zoom in? srry im new

  • @nebsurfer9 just scroll on the mouse

  • Is there any way to remove all vertex paint? Because i did this but now i have to use a jpeg.

  • @CoasterFan456 Never mind it works the same if you colour it white.

  • Hey, newby question here, but how do you get rid of the blue BG in renders? I'm trying to render something out as a png with transparency but I can't get rid of the blue BG. Thanks in advance

  • @EthanLDaniel There's a 'World' tab, it's icon is a little planet. You can use images or just change the colours.

  • @h3sniperman Err, when I try to color something, its all white! I can't know where to go. Just all white! I really don't want to paint skin in the eyes or something! Please help!

  • If you are not able to see the shading while textured is enabled, how can you get the shading to show?

  • can you make a tutorial about rendering in a video format in blender

  • best tutorial i have ever seen , simple and thankssssssssssssssssssssss

  • lol i wana do animation in videogames but this seems so harddddddddd lol good thing im taking an animation class next year

  • Oh this is NOT what you want for videogames. There's a few million pollies too many in here. I have a very very fast computer but if i put this model into a game it wouldn't come close to running it. This model is made just for a single picture. I'll be going to college doing this in a year and a half hopefully.

  • @h3sniperman unless you want to throw it in unity then thats a whole new story :)

  • @jess3336677 its easy to get into, but the more elaborate shit is hard

  • does it work in the game engine? will the color be there

  • Well i guess but your game would run really slow.

  • I am working on a spaceship

and this slightly solved my color problem but what i really need to know is there a way that i can select a certain area to make look like glass

like can i select a certain area and mess around with the shading to make it look a cockpit because i tried but it applied to the whole mesh

  • I wouldn;t suggest this method at all. I'd suggest using textures for that. Vertex paint os for high polly models. you can selesct the area that you want to be glass, make it a new vertex group then sign that new vertex group a new material. You can make the material into glass then.

  • @Mutuceba ....or, if vertex groups confuse you just select teh faces you want to be glass in edit mode click on the edit tab in bottom and then select a new material (or create one) and make that one glass then apply it.

  • Ok i can paint on it but only with my model totally blank! I put texture mode but it doesnt show my model ¬¬

Help, I did exactly what you did and it still didnt show

  • This is vertex painting it has nothing to do with texture. You need a load of verts for thsi to work properly.

  • sorry for bothering you. I cant make a color of the Meta object (made of three meta balls). It's just black, I try to choose color in Shading panel, but when I switch to Textured Draw type it's just black. But when I select Solid Draw type the color appears to be okay.

  • I got a problem. It appears that I can't paint over Meta objects. Could you help plz

  • i used ur tut and made a 3d turtle

  • Animate it and upload a video. Would love to see it. I have a tut for putting animations onto youtube aswell if you need it.

  • how to animate color changing in Blender 3D?

  • You can only animate colour change using a material. You press 'I' over the material tab to record the material values then change the colour and lock that in on a different frame.

  • that looks insane

  • lol thanks. That's just a quick paint for an example. I spent much longer on the actual model.
