Why buy so much Behringer gear when you dont like them due to random faults?
I bought a Xenyx X1622 USB and the effect only work on one channel. I contacted the seller who sent me details of their authorised repairers, sent it away to get it back in a couple of weeks fixed - No cost - still going strong.
Anyone use the A500 amp? Thoughts? Please IM me! Ta
I was considering a DEQ 2496 but I would'nt go near it after seeing this. Obviously Behringer don't give a crap. Its just give me you money and go pound sand mate.
Cheap Chinese capacitors in the power supplies on these will cause lots of headaches. If you're handy with a soldering iron head over to digikey and order panasonic replacements.
The small switches are also troublesome with these units.
You get what you pay for. I don't recommend this gear for people that depend on it to make a living.
You can buy tools from Harbor Freight or Snap On. That's exactly what this is like, folks. Ask any of the PROS at prosoundweb and they will tell you same!
And another thing - You are too concerned about what others think about you. There are no rules about what is right and wrong on how you do things - if it works for you, then do it. Its not "naughty" to use a piece of gear because society tells you not to. They are machines, and are here to help us - use them!
I would like to set the record strsight here - thats if anyone will listen...I worked in the repair facility of the the main importers in South Africa. They were the sole importers of Behringer, Pioneer, KRK, Bugera, Audix, Fane, HK audio and some other high end gear. I was also doing repairs for RANE, Symetrix, Shure and Presonus at the time. I saw no more Behringer Gear in the workshop than any other brands, and considering that there is possibly ten times more Behringer gear in circulation.
Continued... I think that its quite admirable. Yes they do have some models that are more problematic than others, but tell me which brands don't... Some of their models are of cheaper build quality than other brands, but that is what they are aiming for. If you are running the best studio in the world, don't buy the cheapest gear - That goes without saying. To the creator of this video - Get it fixed, get over it, and stop being such a wining pom.
To be completely fair, ive only ever had one behringer mixer (I believe they still make it, just with a new look) and the ONLY problem ive ever had, is that the FX feature built into the mixer plays through one speaker, unless you can turn the gain up to the mixer full, then it runs fine. Other than that, no complaints about them
I've been SO HAPPY mixing Behringer in with my high end gear, I can't even see straight!
Thank you Behringer for giving me 98% of the functionality of the top gear for 30% of the cost. How do you do it? Oh yeah...you are German and you don't RIP PEOPLE OFF :-)

I have several Behringer items I have had only one item that has failed the MIC100 I have other Behringer audio equipment and I will continue to buy Behringer.
It seems you have had some bad luck maybe the suppler damaged the items to make Behringer look bad?
I hear ya bro! I had a $600 berhinger mixer. After the warranty ran out, half the invisible mike preamps went south on me. Unable to sell it, I simply gave it away and got a Soundcraft instead. I also swore to NEVER buy another behringer product as long as I lived.
Everyone knows (except amateurs) behringer products' are all cheap for serious use, that's true. And that's why they sounds like crap and always out of service ... no surprises, also you can read it at almost every internet store at behringer product reviews sections.
what a pathetic video. I have had several Behringer units, one didnt work initially but they changed it no problems. I have also had soundcraft stuff that was faulty too. Shit happens...get over it
I have a Behringer mixer and headphone amp thats been on all day, every day for 3 years,no problems. I have friends who also use Behringer all the time with no problems. I've owned Crown PS amps,Neuman U67 mics, JBL 4430,4412 studio monitors. Yeah there's a difference but for a tiny fraction of the cost Behringer is pretty good. That doesn't mean I'd buy everything they make either.
I once purchased a brand new light bulb and you know what, it was bad. god damn I was pissed. I've also purchased brand new TVs, computers and other electronics that were defective or which have failed. You know what...sh*t happens. Next time buy from a reseller which will stand by behind the products they sell.
All you have to do is pick it up and drop it about an inch and it will start working. It's a loose connector on the CPU board. I had/have the same problems. BTW, I spoke to Behringer Australia and they said these were never meant for touring... and if I keep having the problem, replace the power supply. About $45. I love these units except I have to carry a spare in case one stops mid gig. :(
If you purchace from a reputable retailer, you will get free repairs under warrantee...
all you need to do is get the item to the store.... my ddx 3216 mixer works fine as do the 2 adat cards , my ad converters, and my aes ebu converter...
I suggest the rack owner checks his power bar.....
I probably would steer well clear of any Behringer stuff which is DSP based as this seems to be where the problems are (although the Virtualiser Pro is so cheap I could be tempted) I however have an RX1602 Line Mixer which is superb. Quiet as a mouse and never given me one second's trouble. For the price there is nothing better, as all I want is to mix my synths to my computer's stereo inputs.
I've bought lots of Behringer gear over the years and it's fine up to a point. I gave them too much rope by buying B215A PA speakers, which sounded great until they died during normal careful use. Behringer is great for beginners and they fill that niche very well, but after a while it's time to start choosing more serious quality gear.
I own lot's of Behringer gear and NEVER had a problem with any of it. I have however blown through 3 QSC very expensive amps for no reason. Why didn't you just return the gear mate? Anything can break down. I have had tons of high-end equipment break. Why would you put this garbage propaganda on the net? Maybe you work for another manufacturer or just have some sort of "beef" with Behringer. My Behringer equipment all works perfect and I have never had a problem with any of it.
In America, and every other commonwealth society I know of, you have 30 days warranty for any goods or services a commercially licensed business sells.
I'm confused why you didn't just take the equipment back with your receipt.
I realize the brand has a checkered reputation, some of their gear is great some of it's crap.
Dude, you should have bought it on a Visa card if you can't save your receipts.
I want to know why the retailer didn't own up to the statutes they're contracted to abide
Where did you buy behringer from that they didn't take it back? Always check return policy before you buy. I have high end equipment fail just as often as cheap stuff and I've always gotten a refund or exchange from my dealer.
Great video ... in the US we would contact the Attorney General's office and/or the Better Business Bureau ... have you considered the equivalent action in the UK? Also, did not the distributor offer to take these back?
I had the 16 channel rack unit, brand new DOA ... returned and the next two were fine (so far). Also the 24 channel board with meter bridge arrived with the power supply transformer flopping around inside.
They're cheap and attract sales that way, plus their massive listings in Musician's Friend and others. Sweetwater Sound in the US refuses to carry Behringer.
Thats because Sweetwater is a bunch of thieves. They shove Mackie and Tapco (there's a loser brand for you) down their customers throats with ridiculous prices. NOT a fair comparison. Jesus people, let's use some common sense here.
I'm sitting here with a DCX2496, its developed a loud crackly hiss on all its outputs, iv'e had loads of problems with Behringer kit ,Don't use it for anything mission critical !
