I'm a big fan. I once had figured Academy Award by them and performed it with some musical buddies back in the 70s. The first album is very addictive if you relax and give it a listen a few times. I have a strong fondness, appreciation and respect for these guys.

Been playing Bite Down Hard since high school in the late 70's. In the late 80's I worked at ICM in the music division and we represented Jay. Got to meet him, gush about how much I love 60 Minutes To Go and AND he signed a Bite Down Hard album for me - so I'm lucky and have two copies! Downloaded the whole thing from Napster and still listen to it to this day.
I still have the "Bite Down Hard" album, and play it. Also if you can post songs from Jumpin' the Gunne like "High School Drool," "Turn the Boy Loose," "Neon City," and "Before You Get Your Breakfast," and from "So. . . Where's The Show" "Big Busted Bombshell from Bermuda," and "She Said Allright," and "Into My Life," and "Around the World," and "Where Is the Show?" Thanks for what you have posted.
I saw the Gunne three times between 73 and 74 and the "Bite Down Hard" tour was one of that has hardly been surpassed with an additional 35 years of concert going. Top-notch show and i was so glad when they finally released the catalog on CD.
@babyj1996 YES....yes, he did! And he's working on re-recording some of his favorite songs from throughout his amazing career: Spirit, Jo Jo Gunne, Firefall, and Heart....COOL, huh???
I saw this tour, in 73. Matt Andes was a stunningly good player, used HiWatts when I saw him, tone to die for. Jay was all over the place and Curly Smith is one of the most distinctive drummers alive. BTW, diceman, if you are Jay's kid...we are probably distant cousins.
Dude, I saw your dad (if you're telling the truth...) rock out a few times back in their heydays. The best being '73 at the Hollywood Bowl opening for Alice Cooper. Jay was giving it good and smashed his tamborine into the stage, with most of it sticking like a knife. That was cool! Ask him about that.
I saw your fathers band in 73 in NJ. When they came on I got seperated from my friends because and went to the front of the stage cause I was really into the Gunne. Anyhow they all got busted and spent the night in jail cept me-If jays your dad tell thanks for me!
This is great! Matthew Andes plays incredible slide on this, a real treat. I have all Spirit, Jo Jo Gunne, and Jay Ferguson... all were ahead of their time and remain timeless as well.
The Alltime Overlooked, UnderHeard, Talent/Exposure Inverse Ratio Band of All Time. This "Bite Down Hard" lp is a gem. Encompassing the full spectrum of W.Coast 60's-70's Rock, Blues & Country, it presents a Harder, more focused, less Progressive Cocktail to Jay Ferguson's previous Band, the seminal & influential "Spirit". The record is well recorded, mixed & mastered. Too bad "Asylum" Records, who were distributed by Industry Giant; "Warner Bros." didn't Promote the act with the same quality.
I couldn't agree with you more on that band! That Bite Down Hard album is great! I played em all. Jay Ferguson is one talented individual!! I wish I could go back and stay in the 70's and just cruise around jammin' my 8 tracks with cd quality sound! LOL
Mark only played on the first Jo Jo Gunne album .Jimmie Randall played on all the rest including this live clip.
