  • wkd vid :) my oldest husky hasnt had a full blow like that yet - and my youngest husky hasnt blown at all yet :D

  • you'd be screwed if you were allergic!

  • All that hair blowing away....your neighbours must love you....lol

  • You think that is bad? I have a LABRADOR that does the same thing! FML

I want a husky so bad when i move out of my parents house! My parents dont want one cuz the shedding D:

  • How often does this happen??? XD i want a husky even if they are so hairy :D just love them and their face expression.

  • jus pour water in the dry dog food let it set for a few minutes until it gets soft pour n e remaining water off then mx it with some olive oil it really wrks no lie its not a tric cuz mi dad use to do it with ours until it died now we're in the market for 2 dis time

  • I have a Malemute/Husky cross and she blows coat like this twice a year. 4-6 weeks of it. She's a great dog but damn if the hair isn't enough to drive you crazy.

  • Wtf !

  • You are one brave sole for wearing dark pants lol. I wear swishies so it just slides right off lol!

  • we are going through this right now. where does it all come from?!

  • never heard the term BLOW until I visited youtube.

    nobody likes the word "shedding."

  • @inachu "blowing coat" is the term used for huskies shedding during the heaviest shedding periods, where the fluffy coat completely goes crazy and falls put, leaving new, more season appropriate pelage.

  • I'm actually using a simple rake brush, not a Furminator. We tried a Furminator but didn't like how the fur got pulled out - it almost seemed like it was cutting the fur rather than taking out the loose or "dead" fur. And Mayhem loved getting brushed hard - as you can see in the video, she didn't mind at all (and if we stopped she got mad and would paw us until we started up again!)

  • @alleyr It pulls the dead hair out. Maybe you're doing it wrong?

  • @alleyr not like you need to explain yourself to an obvious ignorant. my fav times of year is when they blow their coat! shes adorable!!

  • Ha! Looks very familiar. I always tell people that if they can just tolerate (and learn to manage) the shedding, Sibes are the perfect dog.

  • Gotta love Coat blowing season... :)

  • Wow how do you get the fur to come out. ive combed mine lots of times and his shedding just wont stop what kind of brust are you using?

  • Haha, his paw! So cute! :)

  • do u have to do it everyday?

  • ah...i know this scenario all too well

  • ....that is a LOT of hair. XD

  • What kind of brush are you using? It works very well!

  • LOL, you his/her soft spot xD Cute I say ^-^

  • it will come out on its own, but it will get all over your house, your clothes, you food... everywhere. its better to just brush it out.

  • now, if you didn't do that, wouldn't the fur just come out on its own? what would actually happen if you didn't brush it out?

  • Oh my God.... I never know huskies could shed fur that much! However, they're still my favorite breed. Say 'hi' to your husky for me please. :)

  • 3 out of my 4 huskies are blowing their coats now what a mess! brushing & plucking like mad!

  • Totally hear you!

  • very nic dog, he looks so calm- how did you do it? mines is 6 weeks old, when will he first blow his coat? sorry about all the questions..

  • Yes, this one looooves to be brushed. Our other one won't let us even come near him with any kind of grooming equipment - he detests being brushed!

  • Beautiful dog. Glad mine doesnt shed that much when she blows her coat. Yours looks like he likes to be brushed, mine, despises it. I found taking her to the beach or let her in a pool to swim REALLY REALLY helps with her shedding. Not just one dunk underwater but a good hour or so of play.

  • wow something to look forward to I guess with my siberian...sigh

  • Yes, and there are some bald women also!

  • my least favorite part about huskies, otherwise they rock! beautiful dog

  • I can fill an entire shopping bag per week with my Sibe's fur! The "owner's" manual said that huskies only shed twice a year...hahaha!!!

  • It depends on where you the climate and where you live. Sometimes the husky will actually shed year round, but in their normal environment (i.e., alaska, siberia) they'll tend to just blow their coat twice a year.

Anyhow, do you know if she's using a rake? Like what is the best tool to use when they're blowing their coat?

  • I use a shedding comb. It has a slightly longer handle and really long teeth. You just have to go slow and be patint while working through the fur. My pup hates it, but gets treats afterward. ;0)

  • lol been there, done that! Its crazy how much hair comes out every day.

  • That's amazing! And there are sooooo many bald men who would love to have some of that hair!
