  • looks more like scaling trees from vue with keyframes rather then real growth of the plant. Nonetheless good simulation and seems like a nice eyecatchy trick that might work with some projects.

  • hi there, thanks for the upload, do you have a tutorial on this?

  • @laycron - sorry , i really wish i had. been very bc wd my job. when i have time, ill try to come up with a tutorial

  • can u tell me please how to make vue render in 3ds max? Maybe in max it's shorter time to render? How to export all scene with textures and import in max? Thanks for tha answer!

  • @skellingas7 There is a plugin for max, it shouls install with the vue. Newer versions of Vue let you render either with mental ray or vray, older use vue renderer inside 3ds max

  • Hi, do you think you could give me a rundown on how to do this in Vue and then put it into max please?

Just looking for a little bit of help, I didn't find the particle flow way of making a growing tree animation very realistic. Thanks

  • Hi Bro! First get a copy of VUe 7 sxtream. it works like a native 3ds max plugin. i used vue 6 for this animation and i had a hard time doing it. with vue 7 you can see Vue objects as you manipulate them inside 3ds max itself. NO need to import anything.

    hope that helps.

  • Thanks mate, I'll give it a go and see how it turns out.

  • Did you create this inside 3d max, or did you use Vue standalone?

I'm playing abit with the standalone, but feel I don't really have so much control as I'm used to when modelling in maya (units and sizes of terrain etc)

    I'm a mac user too:)

  • I created it inside VUE and rendered it in 3ds max. It's hard to do it in max, even Vue 7 which works as a plugin in max, its still quite hard to animate plant growth.

  • Is this MAC compatible?

    Any suggestions'?

    good work btw

  • yup. i think vue 7 is out already which works in both windows and mac . can't wait 2 grab a copy of it already. im a mac user as well

  • jesus I need this in high quality...

  • hello i have a problem having access to vue through 3ds max. They told me from e-on that i should check page 535 in the pdf manual located in the documentary or from "help" in vue well i cant find it there is not there could you send me that page please?

  • hi, make sure you installed vue properly. after doing it you can find it in you utilities panel. then select more in the utilities option and you will find vue in the list shown

  • hi, when im in 3ds max and make a new scene and example make a box, it wont show up in vue when i press interface. and the same the other way, if i make an terrain and press hide interface, it wont show up in 3ds max. do you know whats wrong?

  • btw, the atmosphere will show up in both programs. and if i move the camera in the interface, it will move in 3ds max too.

    ps: sorry mt bad English

  • what do you mean? the camera is supposed to move in 3d max as well if u move it inside vue and vice versa. tnx

  • u should use open GL when using vue inside 3ds max for you to see the objects. try doing it again and this time use open GL instead of direct 3d.

  • Great work, direkirol! Well done!

  • tnx man.

  • nicely done!

how did you make it seem like it was growing...did you just keyframe it's size?

  • i actually keyframed everything that moved from the size, diameter, height, etc of each plant which was quite a long process.
