Im with you on some of those - darwin, fracus, brisk, lethal theory - but at the events i have been to recently - and im not professing to go to raves all the time, but each time Ive seen squad-e, hixxy, sy, dougal, darren styles et al thoroughly unimpress, there's usually one or two decent sets booked - im not into hardstyle or gabba so i cant escape to another arena - and hardcore til i die is just pants! I will give that hardcore innovators a try though
I'm loving the album so far, I think its great and is worth buying, haven't had a chance to listen to all the songs on it though but so far I like what I'm hearing and I have to say my favourite track on the album right now, would have to be this song. I just love it.
some ok songs on the album but overall just the same weak unimaginative dribble as usual from the big wigs of hardcore. why is gammer number 1? still can't work it out. lol
@danimayb Oh hey I remember you, you're the guy that had a pop but removed your own comment the second everyone ganged up on you. You remind me of a real man failing to be a real man
@DougalGammerOfficial He's right. This album glorifies everything that is wrong with the Hardcore genre as a whole. Also, why the fuck are half the tracks on the album labeled as "unmixed" but are clearly radio edits?? You & I is NOT mixable. What are you doing???
@danimayb i still agree to an extent, gammers new stuff has been piss weak. i hope u read this hate mail gammer, and get angry and purposely make more. lol. i think the best track on this release has been kurts remix of scotts track. absolutley loved it. p.s. chainsaw bass is shit.
@danimayb if u dont like hardcore m8 then fuckoff n carry on listening to ur britney spears albums u sad pathetic prick. stop slatin hardcore and its creators cuz theres a lot of fellow ravers out there that'll av sum seriously harsh words to say to u pal
@danimayb I dont totally disagree with u mate - no offense to dougal gammer and the rest but they have sat on their laurels for too long - the scene is dominated by the same dj's churnin over crap and we have to listen to it and be exposed to it coz its all that gets plugged at the big raves - boring compilations and predictable live sets - Im not slating the big producers im pleading with them because they are breaking my heart... again!! love hardcore hate mediocrity
@klmattydub Have to disagree with you I'm afraid. People are complaining about this new electro/dubstep sounding hardcore, and then we got people like you complaining about the 'normal' euphoric sounding hardcore, what is it you want exactly? The scene is dominated by the same DJ's and producers, because nobody else is producing uk hardcore at a level as good as them YET. When someone comes along who is a talented dj AND producer, then I'm sure they'll get their shot at some point.
@klmattydub When I pay £20-£30 to go to a big rave, then I WANT to see the biggest names play live. If you want to see up and coming dj's and producers, then I suggest you go to the cheaper raves at smaller venues, where perhaps you might see 1 or 2 of the big names, but mostly up and comers. Thing is all the top DJ's Dougal, Gammer, Sy, Styles, Hixxy etc. have been smashing raves around the world for the past decade or more, they have the experience to put on a great rave lol
@robelwell88 for me sets of endless mediocre chart remixes and generic soundbyte based crap doesnt constitute a great rave - i dont have a problem with euphoric hardcore OR producers experimenting with new sounds but i don't share your view that those producers you listed are at the top of their game anymore
@klmattydub Well your entitled to your opinion, but for me the production levels at the moment are top notch lol. I'd hardly say sets are endless chart remixes, you may hear 1 or 2 yeah, but people can relate to chart songs as there well known. Also it is possible for new dj's and producers to break through, just take a look at Klubfiller and MOB for example, who over the past year or 2 have really burst onto the scene. Another DJ to look out for is DJ C.
@klmattydub Plenty of producers are making quality original tracks, check out Technikore, Al Storm, Hyperforce, DJ Wiggi, Ben X-treme, Robbie-S, Darwin, Fracus, etc. For me lethal theory records joey riot, dj kurt etc. are smashing it at the mo,go and download their recent 'Hardcore Innovators' album, some great tracks on it. Also theres some really good aussie dj's, Orbit1, Weaver, Cotts & Ravine to name a few.
I no everyone entitled to their own opinion but I love Dougal and Gammer end of
