I love these old episodes.  Lamont was still acting like an inner city Black man and in the last couple of season he was drug addicted, eyes sunken, wearing sunglasses all the time, permed hair, capped teeth and you could tell he was bored to death with the show.

@2199 Yeah, he's a minister now and has talked many times about his drug problems at the height of Sanford and Sons popularity. Look at him in the last season or 2 of the show at how skinny he was & how often he wore sunglasses. And you could tell he was bored to death with the show. He's often laughing at Redd Foxx's antics right on camera and bears no resemblance to the Lamont of the first few seasons in the way he interprets the character.

@2199 actually they were BOTH doing heavy coke,around the last three seasons, you can observe it clearly as the other person commented,redd foxx spent all his money in vegas getting drunk,gambling and chasing whores, cant blame him though,lol,basically fame really hit them hard and they just went crazy,like the expression "noveau riche" lamont (demond wilson) wrote a book recently called "second banana" about his years on the show, its excellent.
