  • Great performance!

  • He is my fav songwriter!!

  • Wow! Great! Brian acutally look kinds of normal in this one.

  • take me to a better time...

  • @Tarn1968 are you REALLY serious??? Bieber owes his fame to Brian

  • Pet sounds inspired the Beatles to do Sgt Peppers as a themed album and using the studio as an instrument and to experiment with technology and multi-tracked music. Later Paul would write "Back in the USSR" in response to Brian's "California Girls". If you listen to the songs format, it makes sense. Brian was a major innovator who was very much responsible for the direction of music in his day.

  • I believe Carl sang the studio version of this song. Carl had a falsetto very similar to Brian's.

  • Brian's songwriting producing and arranging at it's finest...God Only Knows!

  • one of the greatest of all time...

  • @Tarn1968

Are you dense, are you retarded?

    I'M THE GODDAMN BATMAN!!!

    It's Brian for fucks sake.

  • @Tarn1968 ares you stupid or what amigo???

  • Love Brians beautiful voice and this wonderful arrangement of one of his best songs to date. Beautiful song and words. Thanks for posting this clip of this amazing and multi talented man hard at work with one of the best songs he has ever wrote. I have the Pet Sounds album and love it and all the liner notes telling you all about the songs and the players of the instruments and the vocals.

  • simply beautiful.

  • He does a nice falsetto in the next clip:

(Type into youtube) Brian Wilson "I Sleep Alone"

It was written with a woman's perspective in mind. Was submitted for a movie, but don't think he got it. :/

    Eugene's girlfriend wrote the lyrics.

  • Wow! This has got to be Brian Wilson's best post-drug performance

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for cutting Paul Reinser because he's not funny

  • 1 of their very best tunes ever.i absolutly love this tune

  • Brian is my Clark Kent/Superman. Not many will get that, but that's okay.

  • @Tabstarbelle ha ha..doesnt he just

  • Pure Genius .

  • Was he still on drugs at this time?

  • @relimes

    Of course, his whole life

  • @relimes No!

  • the best of us are gone before they can get us.

  • It's good to see him playing and singing like he used to, pity he doesn't these days

  • @Mattzee91 I gather you haven't been following Brian lately. You're sadly out of date and out of 'sync' with your statement.

  • @Mattzee91 He is coming up 70! What do you expect!

  • paul riser is such A CUNT

  • @greeniem

It's not about Paul Riser. Do you know him. It's about Brian.

  • @skipper8257 in a way it's reassuring that you love such cunt

  • @greeniem

I don't listens to baby's who belong in a crib. You can't discuss something without acting like a juvinile shut you mouth!!!!!!!

  • @skipper8257 i am bedazzled with fear at your reaction to children in their cribs. Now shut off shitbag!

  • wow Brian....that´s very good....he should go touring like this....with grand piano and Brian WIlson band in the background....wow....

  • One of the finest songs ever recorded. With that said, I've seen Brian Wilson twice in the last two years. Sorry, but he has trouble talking, much less singing. Fortunately, he surrounds himself with a talented group of musicians who can easily fill in behind him. For a good example, search "Brian Wilson Bridge School" and you'll see what I mean. The dude is still one of my all time heros. In fact, right now I'm gonna go lie in bed, just like Brian Wilson did...

  • is this lip synched? no offense to brian i love him, but does really look like it might be.

  • I don't think so,this videos not so clear but there was another version and looked very much the real deal.

  • @NappyHeadedHorse No, he is definitely singing live. It's great to see him playing and singing.

  • I had the privilege to see Brian in his 2009 european tour, he still sings it beautifully

  • I love the way he uses vibrato in his voice for this performance. Very subtle, delicate and smooth. The man's a genius.

  • so cool

  • whata beast

  • what year was this?

  • 1988

  • i really like this song, brian is a genius is one of his better moments!!

  • Carl Wilson sang this song on Pet Sounds Lp in 1966, for me his voice is better than Brian's. One of my top ten love song's.

  • Not to mention this was 22 years after the Pet Sounds recordings, when Brian's voice had had better days.

  • also why brian willson was more back-ups live

    glass piano SOOO 80's!

  • there's a recording of this song from the Pet Sounds sessions with Brian singing. easily the best version. you can youtube it.

  • Brian sang this 22years earlier and his

voice was just as good or not better than

Carl's.This is a extremely difficult song

to sing and at 46 and having gone through

all the drugs Brian did,he still did a good job singing this amazing song.

  • My number one love song....Awesome song I also like Cole Porter too "Ev'erytime We Say Goodbye"

  • Thanks so much for posting this!

  • he's voice sounds really great(!), especially comparing to his voice from '70s. and god only knows is one of the hardest to sing (lot of difficult high notes)

  • have a listen to my acapells version

  • one of brian's moments of clarity. i miss his genius in the music world.

  • he is still there you know..

  • @crimsonwhite1 He is still touring. He is also still writing music.Still here.

  • Oh my god! Paul Reiser is so not funny. Thank you for sparing us.

  • I've seen the clip with the Paul Reisner intro and I agree with you 100%. He's annoying.

  • one of my favs from brian
