Only thing that sucks is that girls with 4 type hair cannot do this. Because their hair is too fragile. My friend has 4 hair type & when she flat ironed it she permenantly messed up her curl pattern & had to start all over. Maybe if you use a heat protectant it will work????

It looks great! How long did it last before it reverted?? I tried straightening my mom's natural hair and one side kept reverting as I straightening the other side. And the flat iron was on almost the highest setting. Within ten minutes of finishing, everything had reverted back :/

This was a great vid. I for one, prior to going natural, was the "flat-iron queen". LOL I always wondered about how, in the months to come, can I get my old look without the perm. Nervous about heat damage tho. Trying to see how long I can go with no chemicals (def not perm but meaning dyes etc) or heat. Anywho. Two thumbs up.
Were you nervous to straighten your hair? I am so cautious about it and a lil scared, lol. May 8th was my one year nappiversary, I'll prob. straighten it later in the year.
And, no I wasn't scared or nervous to straighten my hair. I have seen plenty of successful hair straightening vids, so that made it easier for me to do it.

Well your hair is growing! Don't you hate shrinkage though! UGH! I don't wear my hair straightened. I wear my curls every day and my hair is shoulder length curly. But I did straighten it just to see my length..my hair is bra strap length straight.. UGH! Shrinkage makes me sick! LOL! Congrats on you progress!

great video...i just tried straightening mine for the first time since the BC last July. it came out ok, but my ends were still very poofy...almost brittle like. Any suggestions? I washed, used the giovanni leave-in, blow-dryed, and applied the chi heat protectant. thanks!!!

This was a great vid. I for one, prior to going natural, was the "flat-iron queen". LOL I always wondered about how, in the months to come, can I get my old look without the perm. Nervous about heat damage tho. Trying to see how long I can go with no chemicals (def not perm but meaning dyes etc) or heat. Anywho. Two thumbs up.

Were you nervous to straighten your hair? I am so cautious about it and a lil scared, lol. May 8th was my one year nappiversary, I'll prob. straighten it later in the year.

And, no I wasn't scared or nervous to straighten my hair. I have seen plenty of successful hair straightening vids, so that made it easier for me to do it.
