  • That woman with the 'white horse' thing is like a fucking child

  • All good and well. Just be aware that atheism, scepticism, science and technology are turning in some kind of "religion", too, tearing down everyone who believes in anything that doesn't fit into their view. I know atheist people whose belief in science in technology is bigger than their belief in life and in themselves. Just as sad as fanatics of any other religion.

  • @eatorganic1984 no. NO NO NO

    FUCK

That's not how it works. Holy shit. Science doesn't demand "belief", where did you get this idea???

    Religious people astound me

  • @StOnion Science may in theory not demand belief, but does get it. I just observe people. Science is "holy" for many, esp. for those who claim to be against any form of religion. They defend their science blindly like religious fanatics defend their religion. "Don't trust yourself / your body, don't trust your child / it's body, you NEED TO HAVE e.g. all vaccines, be a good girl, do what we say, take them all. No risks, BELIEVE US".

  • @eatorganic1984 Atheists live in great fear of death? Since when? Also, I'm not talking about big pharma or corporate science, which you seem to be obsessed with, rather peer-reviewed articles and experiments yielded from Academia labs. Skepticism against corporate science is exactly right, every one of us should question what others want to put into us, be it government or company. I am with you 100% on this sentiment.

  • @eatorganic1984 However, you're taking a seriously indefensible stance if you're grouping all science as getting/demanding pure belief. You can go outside and test gravity scientifically by throwing a ball. You will have evidence against the theory if the ball flies into space. Ask your friends if they get the same results. If all of their balls fly into space, boom, you have disproved gravity. You're skeptical about corporate science like atheists are skeptical about corporate science.

  • @StOnion But remember, that is just people lying to you. Atheists see religious authority like the PhD in the lab coat that works for the company. Atheists view them as purporting to know the inner workings of things, when really, they have little to no evidence and most likely have alternative motives, considering how they choose to provide examples and personal experience rather than evidence. They're the same person to atheists. You must be a skeptic to anyone who claims to have knowledge

  • As long as one has at least a PhD, wears a white jacket, he can tell us anything - we'll follow. Honestly, show me 1 consumer / patient who controls everything that is sold to him as "scientifically tested / proven"? It's not even possible, we have to believe / trust in science. But industry pays science for the right results. It's all about power + money, atheists live in great fear of death, church is replaced by "science" so what has changed? I'm not against science I'm against manipulation.

  • What's the song used???

  • @ibanezgrx222 Klaus Badelt - Fourth Degree

  • Religious zealots are the main reason why wars happen.

  • The saddest thing about this is that there are so many more videos of religious violence that are available to show in films now then there were then . We don't learn.

  • Bill maher is clearly a very intelligent man, he can put such a rational thoughts into such beautiful words.

  • To me there are three scenes that are kind of worthwhile in this documentary.

First off when he talks to the Vatican Astronomer (or whatever he is), that one is interesting.

Then the scene where he talks to the senior vatican priest outside the vatican, that one is funny as hell.

Lastly, arguably, the last minute of this ending. Although it's overdramatized and ridiculous, it has a grain of truth in it.

But Bill is still an asshole you can't take seriously.

  • The "documentary" itself is a joke (if you take what Bill maher says seriously you're not very bright).

I do think there is a grain of truth in what he says in the ending, though, but the man himself is completely impossible to take seriously. The editing in the movie also seems like it's done by a thirteen year old (and not the mature kind).

Most of what I got out of this "documentary" was listening to the people he talked to. The insane babbling really shows the worst about religion.

  • @TheRealXartaX it's because it's what it truely is, blind willful ignorance of you all.

  • @TheRealXartaX Its the worst of it that has effect on our world. The nuances of good that people cling to in its defense are over powered by intense action by irrational thinkers. In the end, it doesn't make sense. Religion is a complete lack of pattern recognition.

  • @TheRealXartaX To be fair, Bill Maher really is a bit of a tit. While one can agree with the sentiment of Religulous, the way he delivers his message - And this can be said about a /lot/ of the things he said - Seems very smug and arrogant, though at the same time very whiny; compounded by the fact that he isn't very good in debates. Aside from that, he serves on the board of PETA, and is a vaccine/germ-theory denialist.

  • @RadimirWackytov

How is that different from what I said?_+

  • @RadimirWackytov

I agree with you, although I liked this movie very much, and I like MOST of Bill Maher's viewpoints, some of his opinions baffle me to be honest. Still, I think in general he's a pretty rational person with mostly good opinions. We all have our demons ;D

  • He's right. As loudmouth and arrogant as he may come across, he's right about this.

  • You will bow to Yeshuah my friend. As will we all. Happy Holidays. Peace.

  • @foxterrier65 fuckin moron.

  • I believe in god and agree with this video.

  • Flag this guy he is attacking Henning Kemner on youtube, flagging him and getting his channel suspended. This guy is rediculous, an idiot, and needs to be banned.

  • @2012IsTheEnd2102 Shut the fuck up

  • @2012IsTheEnd2102 Says the guy who can't even spell ridiculous.

  • Bill Maher is fulfilling prophecy. He should go to an Islamic nation and try to present this movie in public. Here in the United States Mr. Maher can present this publicly without threat of imprisonment or death from the government. Who is not blinded by their own pride? Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

  • CHRISTIANS ARE BRAINWASHED ASSHOLES!

  • I watch bills show on cable. He's pretty funny, but kind of an idiot. I can tell he doesn't do his research, and he repeats himself ALL the time. I have no religious beliefs but I have to say this ending scene made me laugh. Religion doesn't cause violence. People cause violence using religion as a scapegoat

  • @Prozach72 Ridiculous. "guns don't kill people, people kill people". "if i don't sell the drugs people will get it from someone else." Nonsense. Religion does cause violence.

  • @SKG610 Lol those are both true. You have no counter argument. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul

  • fuckign religious nutters

  • Does anyone know the song that starts at 0:35

  • 10 People think they have all the answers but they dont

  • Modern science and its league of technocrats show more arrogant certainty than any religious group. How can someone who endorses doubt be so sure of himself? That's what you call self righteousness.

  • "Grow up or die." Thanks Bill, you summarized our fight for social survival so perfectly in just four words.

  • showed this clip in my class for a project, man it was funny watching the teacher and religous kids getting pissed.

  • @PetersJunta What was the project?

  • @Vaxtris To show a clip of one of your favorite movies and how it relates to psychology

  • @PetersJunta lol....it's psycho to want to believe in such nonsense...sounds harsh, but it's true.

  • @PetersJunta Just curious, but what was the project on?

  • @PetersJunta --- great!

  • @PetersJunta haha you're a brave man. i thought of doing that, but i didn't want my face smashed in

  • Sensationalist tripe, and people are eating it up, great.

  • "I believe in an invisible being with a long list of rules; and if you don't believe in him to and follow the rules to the letter (my letter) I will kill you". This is the mindset we are facing today. If I wrote this opinion in a paper in Europe, or even on a flayer, and used the word "Islam" in it, I would be charged with breaking the new anti-blasphemy law, and put in jail; even as those that follow Islam legally march in the street and scream "Death to Israel!". We are at that point.

  • the guy @0:12 looks like a guy id like to punch in the face

  • Islam is the real problem.

  • @rp1dmc CHRISTIANS ARE JUST AS MUCH AS A PROBLEM.

  • @TheTruthlsOutNow What is your problem? You sound like a psycho that just escaped from a lunatic asylum. if you think your garbage on Youtube will impress anyone, think again.

  • @TheTruthlsOutNow Hahaha no

  • Smallpox killed 500 million people, more than any religious war in history. It's the anti-vaccine people who will kill us all, like you, Bill.

  • @ErichoTTA God wiped out Soddom and Gomorrha, 100,000 Assyrian soldiers overnight, cast plagues upon Egypt, had his followers wipe out 7 nations (Deuteronomy 7), as well as themselves (Levites of Exodus), and flooded the Earth. His Will has claimed more lives than all wars, diseases, and outright murders, perhaps combined, if Scripture is to be believed. That is the benevolent God you worship. That tops 500 million. The Crusades carry on the will of destruction.

  • @Nepycros lol so says a book made by man.

  • @ErichoTTA My bad, the God of Judaism/Christianity. I'm sure the other deities of the world have other sorts of blood on their hands.

  • @ErichoTTA My mistake. I was assuming you were religious, and worshiped that God. You might just be trying to insult Bill, nothing else. I apologize. Aside from that, what I say can be considered true.

  • "AND BEYOND DATzz, WILL BE THE GLOORRRIOUS SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRAIIISTE"

  • those who would steer the ship of state not by a compass but the equivalent of reading the entrails of a chicken XD

    perfect comparison, bill your epic.

  • i believe in Allah

  • fuck what everyone says because you know what? im gonna go in the rapture and im gonna come back on a white horse!!!!! ahhahahahahhaha

  • penis

  • grow up or die

  • i agree with some of what's said here, but i am religious, or rather i have faith, and it has value and has helped me more than anything in my life. I too am against blind faith in religion and people who say they're in a religion but are not willing to follow the virtues of said religion if it doesn't apply to their own happiness or if it humbles them. People feel too good "being right". Doubt is humble, and i tell my friends and family that and they find it hard to hear.

  • lol at 8000 views

  • "faith means making a virtue out of not thinking" I like that, Bill Maher. I like that a lot.

  • wow there was an ad for mormon.org for this video.

  • I think the world will end when a meteor the size of america hits!!

  • As long as it doesn't end before BF3 comes out Im good!!

  • I am not a supporter of religion, and I agree with most of Bill Maher's arguments... but this is like a fox news broadcast... Using random nuclear explosion to make religion look bad? lol.... but in all seriousness religion is childish.

  • @theXact Except those aren't "random nuclear explosions" he was showing. Those were all bombings and attacks by religious extremists, aka terrorists, and are an excellent example of what religion makes people do, and why it needs to be completely abolished

  • @Mishka7v7 Ummmm preaching God is brainwashing. Hypocrite.

  • @Mishka7v7 "arrogant certitude that is the hallmark of religion" Thank you for the example of this...

  • @Mishka7v7 you talk about brainwashing, then you advise everyone to buy into phoney baloney mythology-as-truth dogma

  • @Mishka7v7 There's nothing special about Jesus; And I find it amazing how you can accept 1 religion as truth and all others as doubt; that proves the arrogance of the religious being; chances are you haven't considered other 'paths', so you're just easily brainwashed. I don't believe in hell, and no way do I think of Jesus as my 'savior', as a superior being. He was just a person. If you have a reply to this then let me know what exactly makes Jesus different from Horus, Krishna or Mithra.

  • Comment removed

  • @Mishka7v7 Aww, you threaten me with Hell. Very big of you. FUCKING IDIOT.

  • @Mishka7v7 to quote George Carlin.. "but he loves you..."

  • I;m not religious, but if Jesus came back i think he would be a zombie Jesus. and the rapture will turn all believers into zombies and then the non believers will have to fight to decide. xD but thats just me. lol

  • This was the perfect ending of a hilarious movie. But at the same time to be taken dead serious.

  • 4:52, why is the plant to his right on fire?

  • @dvushaj It's a burning bush, and he is ignoring it....he should have stamped on it though. Grassfires can be dangerous!

  • @jack0305 lmaooooo, i was wondering why it was on fire though

  • Thrilling ending!

  • This scene genuinely frightened me.

  • You will always find an answer to a physical existence because you live in a constant creation. The realms of infinite power and possibility dictate that there is a force that accepts all thing at infinite ends of a scale all at the same time. "I am immortal, i am able to be destroyed, I was created by a higher being, i created my existence" In the end god accepts "I AM" or it would cease. Maybe you should too. You are part of god. Be godly and treat others like they are gods themselves.

  • I myself am Catholic, and even though I may not be able to completely defend my faith, I know that those greater than myself can. Just because I do not understand how an airplane flies does not mean that it does not fly. In the same way, believing what I cannot see does not make me a slave to religion.

  • @frances0messa sorry bud but it kind of does, maybe not slave, that is a bit over the top of a reaction. but blinded by faith is a good one. i ask you, and i really want a response just send me a message or something.

how can you follow a religion, when you dont have any proof? and follow something that is the same as thousands of other religions but claims to be the truth? are all the other ones wrong? i think they all are.

  • Does not doubt imply in the same breath that you acknowledge the presence of a greater being. His greatest point throughout the whole movie, while he uses it to promote agnosticism, unknowingly promotes religion. The very thing he is campaigning against. Does no one else find this to be true??

  • @frances0messa I do not at all see your claim. Through out the whole movie he is showing everyone how they are wrong and asking them questions that they should be asking themselves. He is being a rationalist for them. But they will not put themselves in his shoes and ask those question because they know that they will prove themselves wrong about everything they've ever known. They are scared of the truth.

  • @frances0messa

I should first start by saying that I was born and raised Catholic and have even been a KofC member. I began to wonder if Catholicism's rigidity was really necessary for me as a highly-developed moral being, and that thought that "other beliefs could be right too" led to a kind of complete agnosticism (the closest thing to which Buddhists would call "Beginner's Mind"). I think Bill and I both believe that a higher power COULD exist but that no religion is definitely "right."

  • I absolutely loved Bill Maher's movie, and he preaches the very same thing I've always preached: Doubt, and acceptance that none of us do know nor will know til the end. His conclusion is so absolutely profound and powerful, that everyone should take heed to his words, because they are the epitome of rationality and perfect logic.

  • WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE KEEP HAVING CHILDREN IF THEY THINK THE END TIMES COULD COME SOON!! THIS PISSES ME OFF TO NO END!!! THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT THE MORE CHILDREN THEY BRING INTO THIS WORLD THAT THEY WILL GO TO HEAVEN WHEN THEY ARE RAPTURED - THIS IS UTTER INSANITY - The human race never had a chance because of religion. The herd mentality will be the self-fullfilled prophecy that will end the world - I HATE STUPID RELIGIOUS PEOPLE

    SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mycatisromeo no need to hate them just disclaim them and persuade them.

  • "that we learned to precipitate mass death, before we got past the neurological disorder of wishing for it"

  • Anyone for Bill Maher for president, thumbs up!

  • "Religion must die for mankind to live." The simplest but best quote on what needs to happen in this world.

  • "Grow up or die."

  • @yahooman2009 fo sho

  • Starting at 1:40 is the quote that's most telling to me...

  • What the hells the song I need to know

  • I like this guy. I'm not religious but I seriously think this guy is gona get shot and raped in heaven

  • @omega00omega

Must be gods plan at the end of your sentence for us all then.

    YES US ALL..

  • @jeffrey42088 no sir, they are not.

  • @jeffrey42088

No, they're all not. And that wouldn't win Bill over anyway. Because it's rediculous.

  • @jeffrey42088

Bill Maher won't become a satanist because he probably things it's stupid too.

  • "Religion must die for mankind to live."-Bill Maher

  • What is the song in the background that starts from 0:40 ? It's EPIC!

  • If it weren't for all this nonsense and the Christian dark ages, we could of been exploring our galaxy by now! Unfortunately it looks like humanity won't last too long- maybe a few hundred years max. Just think of it: 10 million years from now all that'll remain of our short stay is MAYBE a small layer of industrial debris. The rest of life that actually wants to live and NOT worship death will re-populate and diversify as it's done so many times in the past, with or without humanity's presence.

  • Does anybody out there know the title of the background scene please?

  • I feel more intelligent after watching this clip.

  • @jeffrey42088 cuz he doesn't believe in satin either

  • @commandplay Satanists don't actually worship Satan or even believe in him, it's just a system of beliefs where one has the choice to live life to its fullest and not have to worry about the affects that would have on their morality. Just live is what they believe in.

  • " The only appropriate attitude for man to have about 'the big questions' is not the arrogant certitude that is the hallmark of religion, but doubt. Doubt is humble, and that's what man needs to be, considering that human history is just a litany of getting shit dead wrong." -Bill Maher

  • @ScreamoBaptism This sociopath sure has no doubts about his intellectual superiority.

  • @twombonu Well it is like you know you are at least intellectually superior than a 5 years old when you have gotten into college. It is pretty much that same feeling.

If your classmates in college tell you Santa is coming to visit them, the reaction is exactly the same. You would wonder if they were really the same age as you are.

How about proving you are intellectually superior than he is instead of name calling?

  • @Neosaigo I never said I was intellectually superior. Sociopath like him (you too, maybe?) are the delusional ones. Delusions of grandeur are a common trait among sociopaths. I address this issue in my novel. I can send you an autographed copy.

  • His quote in this clip about doubt may be the greatest quote about religion I've ever heard

  • @egoistdeviant I completely agree! I just posted this as my facebook status.

  • @egoistdeviant That's because you don't know jack shiet about religion. Move to North Korea, and go fuck your mother.

  • @twombonu North Korea should actually appeal to you. North Korea is a utterly dogmatic dictatorship country, it organized completely as a faith based cult centred around the worship of Kim Jong Il. The food the North Korean people receive from the outside world is viewed as devotional offerings to Kim Jong Il. The thing with North Korea is not that they're to critical of religion, they're to much like religion. So put a God sticker on a picture of Kim Jong Il and you'll fell right at home.

  • @SimonSays288 Kim Jong is an atheist, like most every leader from these socialist/stalinist/communist countries! Are you on the socialist side? Do you like being worshipped like a god too? I worship a higher power, not a human piece of dog shiet like you. Now, go fuck your mother!

  • @twombonu No, I'm not a socialist. The only thing I'm concerned with in politics is that everybody's treated fairly and justly. And no, the idea of being worshipped like a god does not interest me. And while this is all so very Christian of you. Are actually fifty-five yrs old? Because if you are you should not type insults to people as if you were a nine year old that just discovered the internet. Just saying.

  • @SimonSays288 kEEP YOUR SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS TO YOURSELF, YOU ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO LECTURE ME ON HOW TO INTERACT WITH PEOPLE I RIGHTFULLY DETEST. Now, from this point on, I can only say: I don't give a shiet what you beleive or don't believe, Just don;t stand in my way when I go to pray, that would not be a good idea. Unless of course you have a good plastic surgeon.

  • @twombonu Wow, I can feel the love raidiating all the way from USA! Hey, I'm not trying to dictate anything. You replied quite violently to an old comment not eaven directed at you, it's your right to do so as well as it's my right to respond. if you're so mad you want to rearrange my face... then forgive me, that's what Jesus would do. It would actually be fun to see you punch your way into Church to pray, that's not very Jesus-like and didn't he preach peace, love and understanding?

  • @twombonu but you worship a book with an unconfirmed author?

  • Ending to Bill Maher's Religulous...if u haven't seen the movie, this sums it up. :::crush::: ^_^

  • GROWUPORDIE LOL

  • hi nisha

  • kudos!!

  • good film!!!
