@Horzzo Every kind of music genre is dead. Its not wat it used to be. There seems to be no more passion for it. Music, in my eyes, is art. The most beautiful kind of art known to man & woman, there's no limits to wat you can & cant do. Great song from the excellent "Vs",released in 1993. By the way, this album was to be called "Five Against One", but Sony Music asked the band to change the title, and then it was "Vs", Pearl Jam´s second album.
you cant really dis any music because it doesnt matter what it sounds like as long as somebody enjoys it, poeple are just different. i happen to be a huge fan of pearl jam but also a fan of pretty much anything radiohead, audioslave, eminem, jimmy hendrix led zeppelin, oasis, rise against, green day, acdc, blink 182, keith urban, lynyrd skynyrd, allman brothers. talk about a melting pot. there is no such thing as bad music just personal preference.
@JOSHBENNETUBITCH 2 Bands are you retarded? Jimmy Hendrix and Led Zeppelin along with Radiohead and Pearl Jam are some of the best bands ever... but still the rest is pretty shit
@paulisawesome3 Because our generation needs to do something without forgetting the classics. And we always forgot one: Or we do new shit that's horrible, or we keep living from the past without moving a finger.
@paulisawesome3 fuck yeah dude im 17 and ive been a PJ fan since i was 12, dunt matter how old you are, appreciate it, cherish it, fuckin love it PJ <3best band ever (fullfuckinstop) :D
There is still good music out there. Stop complain guys, and search. :D you'll be surprised of what ye find! Saxon Shore!!, Joe Bonamassa!! best rock and blues guitarist alive in my opinion, who is working with Jason Bonham, and i dont have to tell ye who that is. check out!, Angels and Airwaves, Chickenfoot , Blackfield!! one of my favs, Porcupine Tree, Duffy. that should be something to start with. music does exist out there.
i was born in 91.... i grew up during the time that all of my peers were listening to boy bands and the like... but this is where my heart has always been.. whatever happened to true musicians... to meaningful lyrics...to good music.. these guys are still keepin it real... they know what its all about...
@nicfelder54 glad I was born in 86 and atleast got SOME of it lol. I know what you mean though about the boy bands and garbage rap that piled on after 1999..
In a way, I'm almost thankful that there is crappy music out there, because if there wasn't, we wouldn't be able to recognize the true beauty in music like Pearl Jam's.
Man i wish i had a band to cover most of pearl jams songs. I can sing the hell out of them. it kinda creeps me out. idk maybe im a Vedder at heart or should i say Severson !!
@Screeech9 All those gay ass bands that came out flushed the toilet on good music. Just think how, many concerts would you go to in 30 yrs when every good band retires.
@Screeech9 I know right? :S If only we prevented it... If only we knew... Well I'll tell you something... We COULD'VE PREVENTED IT, We KNEW, we only didn't do anything, but we all can still Bring music back... We only have to try.
thing is. music is still coming out that is great.
1. we age we have less time to spend hours/days/weeks/months even years making it our priorty to find the new thing.
2. what you are hearing now on radio/corporate sponsored internet sites/ tv is all sold on sex. period. nothing else. dont fret. good music is still out there. just take some time to look for it like you used to. cheers!
@krilla -- yeah, good music is still being made -- you just have to avoid the corporate crap like the plague and find the good stuff out there. My band, Nero's Opening Act, just released our debut CD independently -- check us out (I can't give the URL here, apparently but you can Goog us.)
@krilla great post man, i've been wanting to saying that but didn't know how to word it :D but you said it all. THere is definately good music out there, like you said we have to really look for it, but it won't really be played on the radio or appreciated until ten years later when all the crap and copy cats are filtered out. Which is why we have these retro come backs. lol well my theory anyway..
@krilla it seems to be buried a bit deeper than it used to be, pearl jam wasnt exactly obscure back in the day, but yeah, its not like there aren't old acts still putting out great stuff, and new acts picking up the torch, its just that integrity, raw emotion, and insight aren't favored in the mainstream anymore.
@krilla Cheers to you Krilla, I concure. believe me some of pj's music can help bring people together as well. Thanks for your post, good luck and have great travels in your life time. Remember we are not promissed our next breath as well. so go listen to Breathe (just breathe: watch?v=kuq7RYQ8Wa0 ) well you still can. :)
@Screeech9 20 years?? you mean 30 years. pretty well everything in the 80's sucked, id say anything pas 1979 wasnt worth listening to with a few exceptions.
@Screeech9 music has gotten worse but we dont have to listen to it, we can still ignore it and listen to Pearl Jam, I dont know why everyone is bitching about music now days, its not like your forced to listen to it, things change! GET OVER IT!
The origins of this song can be found on MTV unplugged, track Black, after the song the band Jams into a progression (while preparing the bass for jeremy), which will become this song. <3 love pearl jam.
The problem with the teenagers today is that they didnt come of age listening to amazing music such as this. The choices that they have had are Miley Cyrus...Lady Gaga and the sorts. LOL geezus..enough said xD

Screeech9 1 year ago 58
@Screeech9 All those gay ass bands that came out flushed the toilet on good music. Just think how, many concerts would you go to in 30 yrs when every good band retires.
mikefaille 1 year ago
@Screeech9 I know right? :S If only we prevented it... If only we knew... Well I'll tell you something... We COULD'VE PREVENTED IT, We KNEW, we only didn't do anything, but we all can still Bring music back... We only have to try.

@redswolf
thing is. music is still coming out that is great.
1. we age we have less time to spend hours/days/weeks/months even years making it our priorty to find the new thing.
2. what you are hearing now on radio/corporate sponsored internet sites/ tv is all sold on sex. period. nothing else. dont fret. good music is still out there. just take some time to look for it like you used to. cheers!

@krilla -- yeah, good music is still being made -- you just have to avoid the corporate crap like the plague and find the good stuff out there. My band, Nero's Opening Act, just released our debut CD independently -- check us out (I can't give the URL here, apparently but you can Goog us.)

@krilla yea i hear...some of these bands are good but some just sing about sex

@krilla great post man, i've been wanting to saying that but didn't know how to word it :D but you said it all. THere is definately good music out there, like you said we have to really look for it, but it won't really be played on the radio or appreciated until ten years later when all the crap and copy cats are filtered out. Which is why we have these retro come backs. lol well my theory anyway..
RedLion502 1 year ago
