The 270 win is a good caliber, but i would choose the 270 Wsm over the standard 270 win. My Wsm has never let me down as far as hitting a variety of animals and knocking em down instantly. Of course this all comes at a greater cost for bullets. Regular 130gr core locks are a mere $15 or so for the 270 win and a whopping $40 or so for the WSM. But the extra money is well worth it. I use the 130gr silver ballistic tips for whitetail, bear, and elk and have no regrets as ive dropped all em.
