  • Thanks for all your doing to help novices like myself.May ask what specs your PC has as my after effects runs extremely slow & I have to RAM preview everything just to hear sound. This is hard when editing a music video with fps dropping all the time...Please reply...Thanks again Sir

  • @MichaelsUploads RAM preview is pretty much a fact of life when working with AE. You can set up an alternative RAM preview (SHIFT+0) with a reduced resolution to speed things up (the settings are all in the Preview panel). My system is a 3.4GHz quad-core with 16GB and separate system and scratch HDDs, and I have to RAM preview too :)

  • amazing - thanks a lot. this is a lot of fun

  • Great work thanks, Hope you don't mind me adding a video response. :)

  • How do you slow down the fire?

  • @mfirebird3000 Either increase the time between the Fractal Noise layer's offset turbulence keyframes on the timeline, or reduce the value of the second keyframe you create.

  • Yea, that worked. I created the whole thing (same out pretty nice) but then i had to remove the adobe after effects as it came out that its not legal :( . I dont have anought money to buy the original one which is like £300 if im not wrong, so i guess no after effects for me ;-(..... anyway i love your videos they are very helpful!

  • i dont have the cc toner :(

  • @iBoooBiE Use the Tritone effect instead - it has the same functionality.

  • help help , how did u make that new composition layer??

  • @nicolaaizz Use the CTRL+N shortcut key to create a new composition. Drag the new comp from the project panel onto the composition timeline to use it as an element in one of your composites.

  • Like the way you stear clear of plug-ins

  • Rockin cool ,man! An effect like that would be cool for the Wizard of Oz or a fire demon or an evil space overlord.

  • This tutorial is "flaming" good lol... I just got after effects, so gonna sub as you will probs help me a lot!!!

  • Very cool idea, You should add some glow, then it would be awesome.

  • Cool, but even cooler if the hole body flamed.

  • thanx again

  • THIS IS FRIGGIN AWESOME@!

  • this is brilliant , simple and an overall great effect

  • dat 1 person should be embarrassed

  • whoa thanks dude

  • My face, I mean your face, if you.........Never Mind. LMAO xD

  • Nice work,Amazing!!

  • mister wat software did u use to record this tutorial of urs ??

  • @seethal007 Like most PC users, I'm using Camtasia 7. You just need to take some time to edit the footage before exporting the finished version - a lot of people just dump the raw footage up, and frankly life's just too short for that :)

  • @shortformvideos Great tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to edit it all together properly :)

  • "your face... i mean my face.. it will be your face, ... never mind." xD

    Cool tutorial dude!

  • you are awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • nice tutorial mate!

  • You looks like Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future :)

  • @mateush998 Now you're just being rude ;)

  • @mateush998 XD

  • Great vid thanks I will play with it a bit and see what I can come up with.

  • my flame effect is not moving :P

  • @TheUkiidjole You need to create evolution and transform keyframes in your fractal noise layer - explained from the 4min mark onwards.

  • thank you for the tutorial sir

  • That's great!!!

  • How did you light that scene?

  • @Legokink1 I think I mention that at the beginning of the video - I held an iPad with a white screen above my head. You could achieve a similar effect by standing under a downlight or possibly even a big flashlight (though you might need to use some cloth or tissue to diffuse it).

  • YEAHHHHH I got it...thanks for tutorial....watch my video also if you have time

  • Hi and thanks for your videos! really enjoy them. Looking to get a new computer and was wondering what set up did you have? thanks!

  • @calvarado15 I actually have the entirely the wrong CPU/GPU combination (AMD + ATI), to be honest, a four or six-core i7 with 2GB RAM per core would be a great start. Also - don't forget to get two HDDs, one for your system/software, the other for your assets and render cache. One of the supported nVidia GPUs will also improve the Mercury rendering engine. Many people like Macs for creative work, but frankly, you can buy a much more powerful PC for the money (it just won't look as pretty!)

  • I did that but the surrounding area that are not covered by the mask did not disappear. There's just the mask.

  • How did you masked again your face?

  • @rapturedpassage Use the pen tool to draw a mask on the selected layer.

  • my face, your face, wil b your face...nevamind :D

  • Wow... after looking at this vid, it seems much more simple then i thought lol

  • ok i will try your site !

  • @shortformvideos

I am not telling that tutorial is incomplete !

but i wanted to see video from starting when you double click on after effects so that i can get all the steps which you have taken !

i want to learn how and what you are adding things ,effects and etc !

in this video , some things you have already added which i can't understand what is that and how can i get this ?

  • @ThePritesh007 While I explain every step, basic knowledge of how After Effects works is needed on your part. In your case, I'd strongly recommend you get Adobe's Classroom in a Book for After Effects to learn how the software works. Also, you can download the project files for my tutorials from shortformvideo (dot) com and play with them - sometimes experimentation is the best way to learn. Good luck.

  • I want tutorial from starting !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ThePritesh007 I don't know why you feel that this tutorial is incomplete, but here's a tip - if you're looking for help, try asking instead of demanding. You'll get a much better response. And by the way, one exclamation mark is enough.

  • Nice i Have A Video Simular A Clown Video

  • nice... keep up the good work!!!

  • hehe cool man

  • in front of our face, or my face...not your face..though it will be your face if you..nevermind haha loved that part

but serieusly good tutorial worked out great :D

    keep them comming..

  • ipad shoots hd vids????btw nice tutorial!

  • @buster999121 nope - but it does work as a close-range LED lightpanel if you're looking for DIY lighting solutions ;)

  • how did you get adobe after effects

  • @xbox360unleashed - Legally.

  • Excellent clean, clear tutorial! Makes a nice change, thanks!

  • Great thorough tutorial, I liked it :)

You might want to play around with the mask or add some stock footage flames to the sides and especially the top of the face. For those flames reaching past the face.

I still love the result. Great job!

  • @Kiliankoe Thanks for the comment (and the sub)!

  • @shortformvideos You're very welcome.

I should really make some new tutorials as well. It was always great fun...
