What do you think is better? Learning online or in person? I'm thinking about going to L.a for a 2 months to learn makeup. But if learning online is just the same I might do that. PLEASE answer. :)
@MrsDanceCat No. There are plenty of makeup artists who didn't go to college in order to be a makeup artist. Though, you can learn a lot from going to a makeup school or even just a cosmetology school.

Lol I just started to get into makeup when i got a professional makeover. It was amazing what they done and how they used all their different brushes, makeup etc. You're right, it is an art. Its amazing actually :)

I'm 15 though and am doing a thing called VCAL through school it's where you don't do Normal year 10 you have 3 days of school instead of 5 one day at tafe which I'm doing a makeup course and then a day of work experience related with your course and they will help you get into it all so I guess I'm lucky to do that but you should try do a course cause they help you get into the career Aswell :)

For your business cards, vista print is okay. however - KSPrint.net has better quality, their cards are thicker and prices are great along with their online templates. You should really go check them out for your next business card order and they do so much more you won't regret your purchase with that company - I know I haven't. @cheekygugi i feel the same way, so what i do is i do make-up for my friends' big events (sweet 16s, quinceneras, bar/bat mitvahs, etc.) and i also do it for my school's drama club.

Thank you so much Marlena! You are such an inspiration to me, i try all your tutorials, read all your articles and i have to say so are soo talented! I am only 14 but i really do want to become a part time MUA as well as a nurse and i will definatly follow these steps, as it is i am a permanent MUA for my best friend, who's parents told me that they love my work. As well I also do makeup for two of my other friends. I just wish it could be easier to get a job at this age ;)

To be a pro MUA you need 2 portfolios : online and paper one. Agencies will always ask a paper portofolio.

@siamesesunshine i was just coming on here to ask the same thing! lol i went to the makeup geek store and a bunch of other online places and its sooo overwhelming when youre just getting started. i was going to suggest she do like a professional makeup starter kit thats super basic and then maybe a bigger more expensive size. itd be neat if she could sell them but even just listing them would be great.
