  • good mommy! you teached your kids to be kind to animals! thats the first rule in becoming a good men!

  • Thank God for angels like those kids and you... I cried and smiled watching this video. I can't into part II however. Thank you all for your kindness...:)

  • this is wonderful, yes people drop off pet at the dam to often, but i think he found a much better home ,i also adopted a mother cat we found at the dam i still have her 6 years latter ,god bless you wonderful people,,,,,,,

  • @SuperStarKashmir Thank You :)

  • OMFG...ADORABLE!!!!!

  • @svetlanalupesku Thanks!!

  • @LAFFMASTR sorry,i'm so jealous : ((

  • Hope you washed up good after touching that raccoon, They carry round worm, that is highly contagious to humans. Not to mention the other diseases they carry.

  • @gf3030 most definitely - hand sanitizer all over!

  • I'm glad you guys did something about the racoon. I totally agree! When animals become too tame around people it's a danger to themselves. It's sad cuz everyone wants to touch and be nice with wild animals but, it's actually harmful to them.

  • @LAFFMASTR i was making a joke about the statement the kid made lol

  • @TheEhxpert I'm sorry, that reply was meant for hotpinkjaguar - lol but I got a kick out of your reply!! gave me the giggles!

  • @TheEhxpert I know - we got a kick out of it too! LOL

  • He likes to mess with your mouth... because its a hole?... makes sense.

  • hey we have a problem with a baby raccoon, hes really sweet! and he gets along great with our cats and us. He fell in2 our house from our attic, when the mom got a look at us, she got scared and took the other ones and left. We tryed putting him out yesterday and he was scared and didnt know what 2 do so we let him back in. Every wildlife place we called said they would put him 2 sleep, and the vet said he wont give him shots. Do u have any advice? we love him and want him 2 be safe

  • @hotpinkjaguar the only advice I can offer is to put him outside at night when they are active and see if the mom comes back to get him, leave him in a cardboard box or something she can get him from, but he can't get out of. Otherwise you will have your hands full...they eat kitten baby formula (love it!) and you can look on the internet for age stages...to see how old the one you found is.

  • @hotpinkjaguar After you've tried several nights in a row and left it out there for several hours between feedings, then you can determine if you will care for it. We were told by rehabilitation that they must be handled alot when they are little b/c the parent would.

  • @hotpinkjaguar They eat every 2-4 hours depending on their appetite and feed luke / warm formula to them out of a baby bottle with a smaller nipple with slow-medium flow depending on their age. Once they are around 6 months old there are sites you can find that tell you what to help them look for ...cont'd

  • @hotpinkjaguar so many people care for baby raccoons, but I do not recommend making him / her a house pet - the first thing you must do is get all the tics off it's ears and body - if it didn't have any that's a good sign mama was taking good care of the baby:) I hope this helps...look up baby raccoon ages, what to feed them once they are weened, and how to care for them, the Internet offers so much information:) Good luck:)

  • your family is awesome! there are so many mean ppl who would have not cared at all! i don't have kids, but if i did, i'd want them to be kind to animals too.

  • "He likes to mess with your mouth 'cause it's a whole" giggity

  • Very happy eding to this story.Bless this family for being so kind. :)

  • Not a good idea to allow the raccoon to lick you on the face. I'm no germaphobe, but you never really know what type of disease or germs wild animals may spread.

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • Thank God you took that sweet baby and found it a home. My wife & I found three baby orphan coons spring 07. We raised them, and 4 yrs later, they're still with us. They're wonderful, sweet, intelligent, affectionate, playful. We love them dearly. Recently saved a grown injured male. Was in a puddle of blood in the road in 22deg weather. Took him home & he survived. Been six weeks now, and he's completely tame and wonderfully sweet. I give him full body scratches, which he loves.

  • I wouldnt kiss a wild raccoon... o.o

  • Hello, Thats cool you found a tame Raccoon. That doesnt mean she is a pet though. Raccoons are very social creatures, not usually mean. They will approach humans in search of food. Even during the day time. Doesnt mean they are sick or rabbid like most people think. I have a pet Raccoon. She is awesome. As a baby she was very very friendly, but as they get older they get a lil aggressive. Also my Raccoon has been vaccinated for the Rabbies virus. It works just like on cat or dogs.

  • wow the raccon really likes the guy in the baseball cap

  • (he likes to mess with ur mouth cause its a whole)....wth lls

  • I want it!

  • I want ONE!!!

  • put a shirt on....

  • "he likes to like mess with your mouth cause its like a hole like seriously"

to conclude, he just likes holes

  • Notice 14 year old shirtless dude knows everything about raccoons. 14 -15 year old boys know everything (except how to shut up!)

  • JESUS!

99% of the time when a wild raccoon approaches people appearing docile and un-afraid it is rabid. Its saliva is full of the virus and every one of those nips, licks and kisses would transmit the virus which is 100% fatal to humans if the vaccine is not administered prior to symptoms developing.

  • the reason that raccoon ant hurting them be cus he senses that thay are good people.

  • i would of shot that shit if u wanna racoon pet come on to my house i find one everyday in my garabe can!

  • GodLoveit ? wtf

  • @HattieLovesCattie Thanks for being patient...we had hoped for a reunion, but Tae is better off without having human contact other than the people who feed her. I have uploaded a Part 2 video I made just today for you and others:) I hope you enjoy it. There are Never before seen Footage from the uniting of the kids and Tae along with some pictures from the people she was with over her first year or so.

  • @LAFFMASTR You should be ashamed of yourself, letting your children play with an unknown animal. And not just play with it...but lick their mouths! Unbelievably foolish. You don't know the history of the animal and it could have been in the early stages of rabies. You are profoundly lucky your kids didn't get rabies or some other horrible disease. The park ranger is also an idiot. The animal should have been taken in and quarantined to check for rabies, not just "left". Unbelievable.

  • @onlyonesweetpea she wasn't left, this happened over a two day period. read the info on the video, and the info after the video:) this situation could have turned ugly real quick, but after being around Tae for several hours is when the attention took place - not right away, we spent almost 10 hours with this raccoon before deciding anything...but upon meeting her knew she would be in danger if she was left there...

  • @LAFFMASTR my sister and her boyfriend live out in the country and found a baby raccoon abandoned by it's mother. They raised it while it was small on milk and honey and they named it "Ricky". They have had it now for just over a year and it would never survive by itself. It is free to leave at anytime but it won't. They go crazy over anything sweet that is why he was close to the boy's mouth who has the gum. He is beautiful and has a great dispostion.

  • @LAFFMASTR Awesome!! I wonder if a rehabber brought her out for the day, but she climbed a tree and had to be left. She sure seemed tame. I am a wildlife rehabber and raccoons are my favorite! You have a wonderful group of kids!! I wish all kids were so compassionate with our wildlife.

  • When are you going to put up the new pictures of Tae?I have not been on here in 5 months. You posted on here that you had seen Tae 5 mos ago and were gonna put up the pics.

  • That racoon stole ma doormat!

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooo cute<3333333333luv it!!tha cutest thing i've EVER seen!!!!!!!!!!

  • so cool guys thumbs up

  • Shortly after , the boy that it kissed got rabbies that night and started gnawing on his penis

  • if you have a baby racoon chasing your car how do you not stop for it?!?!?!??!

  • It is very refreshing to see a mom encouraging her children to love, care for and respect animals instead of screaming and freaking out, worrying that he would scratch their eyes out and bite open their jugulars. You have quite obviously passed along your love of nature to your kids, and for that I thank you. :)

  • Nice of you! All humans should take orphaned animals or lost animal with them.

  • for some reason i want to kill these people

  • Was it just me waiting for that Raccoon to turn on the children?

  • good job on saving the beautiful animal!

  • lovely animal :)

  • I have a rescued baby raccoon and her name is Miss Prissy the Raccoon (on here)

I got her when she was about 5 weeks old on June 5, 2010.

I hope she turns out as tame as the one you all found.

Miss Prissy is now about 12 weeks old and growing fast, she will listen to me some of the time.

Wish me luck in raising her.

  • You sound like such a nice family!

  • It's so nice to see such a kind group of people. I wish there were more animal lovers like you guys in the world.

  • this is soooo cute!!

  • aww its cute! i want it too!

  • SHUT UP!!! that kid without the shirt thinks he know's everything!!!

  • anyone else think the know it all kid is annoying

  • Thank you and your children for caring enough to take action. I am a wildlife rehabber and they can be returned to the wild after rehabilitation if they are young enough.

  • Animals are full of parasites of other species than we have, so you can clean them out by taking dried, powdered herbs in capsules for 7 days, on empty stomach. Take 2 caps Black Walnut Hull once, 7 caps Wormwood once and 3 caps Cloves three times. Then you can do this for maintenance one day, once a week if you want to, or just once in a while, especially if you have gases.

  • Animals have hundreds of parasites - dogs and cats too - but no need to worry, you can do a herbal parasite clens, see dr. Christopher´s herbal formulas or the books by Hulda Clark. This racoon is so cute - who can resist being close to it?

  • You don´t need to worry about parasites. Cats and dogs have hundreds of diffrent ones and you should of course not let them lick you in the face and when you have pets you can not evade them. You can do a parasite clens once in a while. You take dried, powdered herbs in capsules for seven days on empty stomach. Black Walnut hull, 2 caps, one time. Wormwood, 7 caps, one time. Cloves, 3 caps, three times. Then you can do the same once a week for maintenance. See Hulda Clarks books.

  • Poke Ball Go! lol jk

  • Don't let this rodent lick your lips... that's nasty and you don't know what type of shit bacteria he's carrying around...

  • Can you post pics of Tae on here ?

  • That is there Raccoon. I don't believe that you just came across this.. NO WAY!

  • Congratulations! You are rabid...

  • love this is so damn cute

  • Крошка енот ... прелесть !!!

  • I love the Ending the most :D

    so Hilarious! 5/5

Yous guys are so lucky to find a Tamed raccoon ^.~

  • Great outcome

  • Raccoons make great pets.

  • I check on here from time to time.Still waiting for that " reunion " to take place.

  • @HattieLovesCattie I recently visited with Karen, the owner of Tae (what the kids named her), and she is soooo big...the owner of Tae didn't recommend the kids come to visit her since she is only around her and her husband so she has been sending me pictures of her and I took a few while I was there last week.

  • @LAFFMASTR Can you post some pictures of her on here?

  • I check back on here from time to time.Still waiting for that " reunion " to take place.

  • @HattieLovesCattie That was the first time I've seen Tae since the day we dropped her off. I love your persistence though, if it weren't for your reminders I don't think I'd be collecting Tae's photos over the last two years...thanks for being such a wonderful person:) I do hope one day I can allow the kids to visit with her if we can visit frequently enough to allow her to be calm with them

  • I am happy I came across this. Thank you guys for being such great people and making my day!

  • It's never a good idea to take wild animals home. Their mom is usually near by. I love the video. Have watched it before, but just wanted to say that.

  • It's never a good idea to take wild animals home. Their mom is usually near by. I love the video. Have watched it before, but just wanted to say that.

  • thank you to have helped her! i must say racoons are not very afraid of humans, we have lots in Montréal streets who come to ask for food, take it from our hands and just ran after eating.

  • Hi there, Was happy for the outcome. I posted a video response. You'll really enjoy it I'm sure. Yes coons raised "not by their mother" would not know how to provide food for itself. The mom usually takes them out & teaches all about survival @ 6 1/2 to 8 wks. old. If not taught by mom she would've starved to death eventually. A very PAINFULL death. Also it could've gotten run over by a car. Big myth posted by HVF331 above is ignorant. Coons feed a lot in daytime.Hope you like my vid response.

  • @gfuss1 Thanks for the comments and I'll have to check out the vid response. Good to know that information but we didn't hesitate for one second in finding her help. If you read the comments, we drove around the dam and came back to find her cornered up against a truck by a man (holding his child) with a bat in his hand. He didn't know she was tame, but feared for his kid and it could have turned out very ugly, that's when we decided it was time to take action rather than leave her alone. Thanks

  • @LAFFMASTR Hi again, got your reply.I saw a website once that showed a tiny young baby coon that was pounded by some stupid golfer w/ his golfclub. He also was ignorantt that coons are taken out during daytimes by mother to teach them to feed etc. They rescued him. Named him Charlie. They tried to save him but to no avail. he had to be put to sleep.

  • @LAFFMASTR Hi again, I once saw a website that showed a baby coon that was beaten by a stupid golfer that thought any coon out in daytime was rabd. People tried to ave him but to no avail. The poor little guy had to be put to sleep. They named him Charlie. His only crime was going out w/ mom to learn how to provide for himself that day & must've got seperated from her. I love golf & had I been there would've saved him. If I'd have been there that idiot would've got a SEVERE asskicken by me.

  • That one kid is an idiot. Dont tough its neck, it will lick your mouth because its a hole. Durrr.... i have a wooden spoon. Dude its not exploring and im pretty sure that they dont like hair. Also ears.

  • Raccoon like this child cause he smells gum, and raccoon smell that gum. This is awesome vid.

  • Wow, absolutely amazing! I envy you! This raccoon was so lucky that you're family happened to come across her and find her! The world definitely needs more people like you and you're family in it, this was a wonderful video and great thing you guys did. Ignore the rude comments on here! you guys absolutely made the right decisions! Kudos to you! :)

and Hey, if you happen to find another racoon baby, CALL ME FIRST!! :P haha

  • amazing!!! I envy you guys. We need more people in the world like you're family and those children! Ignore the rude comments on your video, you guys absolutely did the right thing. KUDOS TO YOU!!

Wish I could get a pet raccoon :(

If you find one again you call me first!! haha :P

  • You kissed a raccoon off the street just because it was nice??? wow...

    Nice story though..

  • @BvoLoddy I'd rather kiss a raccoon than most people.

  • that is so cute and sweet :D. I wish my mom would let me have one :(.

  • My mom always hits record instead of taking a picture. So funny.

  • good of you to help her out ty

  • You all are wonderful to help it out! how sweet!!

  • thats catue

  • Very cool.

  • what you did there is absolutly stupid usually if you see a raccon in the day it has rabis luckily it was tame and im sure it wasnt dumped people take baby coons that dont have moms and raise them until there old enough to live on their own then they release them i would advise you NOT to do it again

  • amazing story, you did an amazing thing.

  • What a great story! Such a pity that somebody dumped her off like that. I found my two cats in a park- dumped. It's such a cruel thing to do! Thanks for seeing that she found a good home.

  • Ah that's lovely!

  • Good for you guys.

  • cute guy.. so, did you adopt him at the end? If you have left him there he may have survived and he may have died of hunger, neglect, cold or even by sick people. I know some videos posted on Youtube by people who love to kill raccoons. One video showed a raccoon set on fire. the guy who posted argued with me on youtube and later admitted they kill as many as they can. Those sickos are always out there..

  • We found a loving family who cared for another raccoon to take her in. She is still loved deeply and cared for by them to this day. I have been receiving pictures of her over the last year from them and we anticipate a reunion in the spring of this year.

Thanks so much for the comment!

  • That is very nice of you, and your kids look very kind. It is good to bring up children that way, teaching them to love and care for animals. They later become good people.

  • Those sickos that kill animals end up doing worse things later in life.Cops know there is a pattern of people who kill their pets or animals end up being murderers later. One example is the creep that killed Polly Klass.

  • Is anybody can give me a cookie? or some food?? Your mouths smell of bisquits,,,please...I know you hide some...

  • Nice socks, Kevin. lol

  • Hi Mom,

I'm curious..who told you there is no vaccination for raccoons?

  • The local vet we called stated there was no vaccine for raccoons, as did the ranger, but we later found out that some vets will perform the vaccine. The people we gave Tae to have a vet that administers the vaccines.

  • Thanks for the response!

  • Small raccoons are naturally friendly. It might not have been abondoned. I enjoyed watching the interaction.

  • Thank You!

  • I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever see a reunion? Not trying to be rude here but there have to be some days that they can get together and go see Tae,like on a weekend.

  • I met 2 of these fellas at a park once and I gave them some granola bars haha they actually came and took it from my hand.

  • These kids are a credit to their parents..

    And to humanity!

  • Thank You :)

  • @GreekForTruth1

The new video has been posted "Wild Raccoon Found at the Dam Part 2" Please share it with your friends:) Thanks!

  • @LAFFMASTR You should be ashamed of yourself, allowing your children to be touching an unknown animal..and not just touch it...but lick their mouths. Just foolish, so so foolish. I also find it very hard to believe that the ranger told you to just leave it alone. Either that is a lie, or the ranger is a complete idiot, because any animal that friendly needs to be taken in and quarantined to make sure it doesn't have rabies. You are profoundly lucky that your children were okay.

  • i woulda kept it lol its the cutest lil thing and i wouldnt care about the dieseses lol

  • @lilrebel213 The new video has been posted "Wild Raccoon Found at the Dam Part 2" Please share it with your friends:) Thanks!

  • @lilrebel213 What a stupid comment. Really? You wouldn't care about diseases? Do you even know what rabies is, and how serious it is?

  • Raccons are my favorites, they are smart, clever, and handsome!

  • aww soo cute u used to have a pet squirrle named 22 he was soo f-iinngg cuttee

  • aww that must of been so amazeing...i would of toke her home after that but u guys did a wonderful thing to help that cute raccon survive. =)

  • LAFFMASTR.....thank you for the very nice comment you've left me.

You may also notice that I have remove some of my duplicate comments from here.

I meant to say, 'the mother in the video is as sweet and compassionate as my mother, when I was a kid.

  • Laffmastr,do you all live near Tae's family or its a hours drive to go see her?

  • She literally lives ten minutes from us...we have two boys, the one in the red hat and the little one. Both are in school and play sports. The tall boy is our neighbor who is now in HS and also is in band and plays sports. The girl is my niece who lives next door and the other boy is my nephew who lives a couple cities over.

  • In response to a reunion...We may have to break down and take them individually, but all are active in school and all have very busy schedules...we'll keep trying! :) Thanks 4 the responses!

  • The kids are still asking (a year later) when we can go see her again. I'd like to make it a reunion with all the children from the video, it may have to be with only a few though. Thanks so much for sharing this post with us!

  • One old lady in Fla was attacked by a wild pack of raccoons when she tried to shoo them out of her yard.Just like any dog or cat, they can be friendly or get upset and bite.

  • Yes, any wild animal can attack. Even a tamed loving pet like a dog can attack when someone least expects it...I've even know humans to attack. Tae, just happened not to be that type of animal. I think even wild animals know when someone is there to help them. The video was from quiet a while after we initially met her and the pictures were from day two. Thanks for the post :)

  • you are right i think they can feel it :)

  • THANK you lovely people/kids with such big hearts. Watching this clip is such a pleasant and wholesome experience like reading one of those kids/young adults adventure story with a happy ending. Just how nice it is to know they do exist in real life! May God bless you and your family!!

  • THANK you for being such good people/children with such big hearts for the little fella Tae!! This is just like one of those kids adventure story I read while young, with a happy ending. God bless you and your family !!

  • The kids still read the comments left by people. Thanks so much for taking time to leave a beautiful post :)

  • Give it time and he will bite someone hard as hell! Do not trust these guys they look cute but they are unpredictable as all get out. I speak from experience and I have a 3 inch scar on my hand to prove it!

  • Just read a article on Fox about a old lady attacked by a pack of raccoons in her yard.Like any cat or dog, some are friendly and some aren't.

  • Thank you for finding a home for her!!!

    Bless You...

  • Thank You :)

  • This is my favorite raccoon video. You all

reminded me when I was a kid, along with my sisters and brothers who wanted to keep lost animals, and our mother was as sweet and compassionate as your mother.

  • Your gonna make me cry! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and a small portion of these kids lives...

  • love this video!! thanks

  • Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • so cute. but i'm still afraid of raccoons!!

  • its checking for tender spots to gnaw on

  • Thanks for all the posts everyone! We are still in touch with the family who is taking care of Tae Tae...they call her TAE and say she is fat and healthy and stubborn! They have stated we can come over and see her, but she is MUCH BIGGER now and very happy! Thanks for the comments! When we get the time to visit with Tae we would love to post a new video with pictures of the reunion:)

    We love you Youtubies!

The kids all love reading yo

  • The family hasn't posted in 4 months.:(

  • WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF COMPASSIONATE KIDS ! THE MOM/S AND DAD/S SHOULD BE VERY PROUD!

    You done good:-)

  • All the moms and dads of these kids are very proud! So much that the next day two of the kids parents joined us...Thanks for the post! :)

  • I am so glad you guys took her to a good home a used to have a boy raccoon that we raised from an infant bottle feeding and all and around christmas he got outside and we havent seen him since i hope someone found him and did for him what you did for tae. I almost cried watching your video then when i read that you didnt leave her i did cry thank yo uso much.

  • We couldn't leave her, especially after the kids were so eager (and I) to see her again first thing the next morning. Even two of their parents joined us the next day and contemplated taking her home themselves. My mother-in-law even came to the dam the next day (day two) to see for herself why we spend the entire previous day at the dam. Thanks for the post :)

  • It's nice to see there are still a few decent humans out there; so thankyou for helping the raccoon the world needs more people like you guys! =)

  • Thank you for your post!

  • It deffinently was once owned. Though wild young can be very curious, they would not be so eager to climb on your shoulder.

For tame raccoons, the shoulder is normally an extremely comforting location. It's like a tree, high from the ground and reassuringly safe.

  • I agree! She was a beautiful experience...

  • aww thats so cute

  • that raccoon is so cute.

    and i can't believe it's so tame.

    i mean come on!!!

how can you not love a tame person loving raccoon :D

  • We all felt the same way!!! Thanks for the post Micheal :)

  • he likes to mess with your mouth because its like a hole.

  • I do hope we get an update video on how Tae Tae is doing.

  • The same thing happened to me only it was in my backyard. They are extremely adorable when tame like this.

  • nice. but imagine what chinese people doing in raccoon

  • And cats and dogs too.:(

  • the poor kid in car wants to see it too!

  • i want 1

  • can't wait for the reunion video

  • Me either.I hope we see lots of Tae Tae.

  • We are still wanting this for ourselves too...One day I promise, hopefully sooner than much later :)

  • nice one, so glad it found a good home.

  • where can i get a pet racon?

i mean im from europe, i cant get it like in a shop or something?

i just loove theyr little hands :D:D
