There is an original video of this with Suzy and Lee Greenwood, would love to find it instead of this soap opera nonsense. Suzy is a sweetheart, have had the opportunity to meet her several times.
What a wonderful song, and how true to life. (And what an overheated video, but at least it helped to expose the song.) Ms. Bogguss is in full bloom here; I used to work on country radio, and her songs were always high points.
I didn't know Keith Whitley wrote this wonderful song, but now I know it, I am hardly surprised. He had the talent, and probably felt hopelessly in love with Lori Morgan. Given my choice, the phrase "I'll always be hopelessly yours," would be written on the tombstone of somebody I won't name. Reality being what it is, all I could do was donate money to a charity for the illness that took her life.
I am listening to this song now and crying because my boyfriend and I had a little falling out tohight. This is "our song". This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.
It's not often that "super stars" get missed by the record companies, but they sure missed it when it comes to Suzy Boguss! What a voice! Martina McBride, eat your heart out! This girl has always been a true singer!!
tuneaddicted, yousaid it! beautiful "clean" voice - reminds me (my age is showing!) of the gal who sang lead with the seekers, the aussie group from the folk era. as you said, clear as glass.
This is such a beautiful song! I'm a #1 fan of Lee's and have been for over 25 years! And the most amazing thing of all? His voice is as good today as it was 25 yrs. ago! He's my all-time favorite singer in the world! Thanks for posting this.
P.S. Suzy puts the icing on the cake in this song!
I love this song so much!! I think Lee Greenwood and Suzy Bogguss sound extraordinary on this song. All of those haters that posted earlier comments about Lee Greenwood are just jealous NO TALENT people who wish they had his talent!!!
I have been looking for this song for a LONG time. I heard it when I was about four, and it's been in my head ever since. I've tried to play it on the piano, but I forgot about half of the tune. I think I got it now, though. Thanks.
This song was written by Keith Whitley. Keith wrote many fine songs but rarely recorded any of them except for some demos. He demo of this can be found on YOutube.
Absolutely awesome video! Great job! I love this song. Suzy and Lee have such fantastic chemistry when they sing together. If they aren't already having a fling, they should at least consider it! LOL!
Absolutely awesome! Great video for an equally great song! Suzy and Lee sure have a lot of chemistry when they sing together. Hmmm...maybe they should consider having a fling. LOL!
I think Lee Greenwood has a gre...no wait! That's Lee Hazelwood I am thinking of. The one who sang duets with Nancy Sinatra. He will be missed. He died a couple of months ago. Suzy is great though!
Suzy is great. I think it would have sounded better with Vince Gill as the male voice. Not knockin' Lee Greenwood. But Vince's voice would match hers a little better.
The first time I heard Suzy was when Outbound Plane came out; I was about 9 years old. I got out of my country music phase along the way, but have now touched base with it. She's still aswesome!
just received suzy latest cd... of american folk songs its fantastic !!!!!!!!

Match, yes. But contrast can also be beautiful. In this case it only serves to emphasize the beauty of Suzy's voice.

Suzy's voice is as pure as a mountain stream and she should have been so much more popular in my opinion.
