Fantastic. The video must be watched by all who want to know about Science of Computing. I really enjoyed the "Recall and Recognition differences portion and the well connected view analogy.
i always saw it this way: science(something which can be proved and tested rationally) behind it was logic, with the engineering skills of making the m/c, which understands only 2 states and bound by many other constraints, do what we want - easily and efficiently.
it not only requires science and engineering, but also creativity and imagination...thus making it an art as well.
a good presentation

i never really could convince my father how my subject is both engineering and science...and that was until i showed him this video.
the analogies at the end are apt. a brilliant video and should be the first video shown to a comp engg. student. :-)

too good, sir!
its all interesting and glued me to the video, from the first second to the last...
nice analogies... nice pictures... nice examples and wonderful derivations using various other fields and disciplines of engineering...
hope to see more such interesting, informative, clean and simple videos on complex topics, from you.

for the question you asked at the end... i should say that the answer is NO, most of the times.
except for a few lecturers, i wasnt lucky enough to find proper guidance which gives a holistic view of the course i was in...
this video shall be played on the first day of every Computer Science batch!
