  • St Peter, rack em up. Lol

  • I remember this guy came to visit us at Mc Connell AFB in Wichita, Kansas back in the mid 1970's at the airmans club and he gave a pool shooting demonstration.

  • If you have ever seen the matches between Mosconi and Fats which were held in the late 70s you would see that Fats could not even hold Mosconis cue case even then. He lost at every game they played not just straight pool. He also lost at 8 ball 9 ball and the hustlers favorite 1 pocket. None of the matches were even close. In Mosconis heyday the only time he played Fats was a 1 pocket match they played for 50 a rack. Mosconi had to give him money to get home.

  • @dv713 I know im responding to this late I will not argue that Willie Mosconi was a better overall player then

Minnesota Fats but he's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Very good players such as Jersey Red and Freddie the Beard say he played a great game of One Pocket and he was even better at Bank pool. All Around Mosconi>Fats but there's one thing you've got to admit he was without a doubt pool's greatest showman.

  • Although this doesn't sound like pool, it's sad he had to sleep with a fourteen yo girl; she might of had gobs of makeup on to look 20) if he claimed Etta James as his daughter, he might have got arrested, or at least disrespected by his contemporaries of the time

  • Like Fats, you're a fuckin amateur.

  • @notbestfriends I'd bet $100 you're some scrubby 4 or 5 rated league player. So which is it, apa or bca? I'd bet bca because the bca handbook lists hall of fame inductees in the back with a little two sentence blurb, which would explain why you don't actually know a fucking thing about the pool players you like to discuss.

  • Who cares that he wasn't quite on the level of the best? He was colourful, a great asset to our beloved sport. What use is it to disparage the man? Read his "autobiography"! It resembles "The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen - I promise you'll laugh your head off, it's really the most wonderful read, and sure enough, it's all self-fashioning, but elevated to an art form!

  • @LeonFleisherFan you're wasting your time replying to "notbestfriends", he's an idiot without a clue of jack shit. Just a week ago he claimed that anyone not playing tournaments was a "good amateur at best" so realize first what you are dealing with before bothering to make a serious reply to his retarded ass.

  • "St. Peter...rack'em up" that's sick!!!

  • Fats never won any pro tourneys. He was a good amateur, nothing more. Couldn't even carry Mosconi's jock.

  • @notbestfriends Yeah, he wouldn't need to carry it, what with you running around carrying willie's jock instead. You've posted the same thing on four or five videos of fats now, but again: you are flat wrong. In the 30's Fats was playing as well as anyone, and beating guys like Wimpy. "good amateur" indeed....please educate yourself.

  • @victimofcheese

What upsets me is that Fats was a media creation, highly overrated & never won a professional tourney..

Mosconi won 15 World titles and had a 526 straight pool run. Dispute that.

The facts speak for themselves: Fats couldn't carry Mosconi's jock.

  • @notbestfriends You're comparing apples to oranges. Fats was a hustler, and mosconi, while possibly the best billiard player ever (besides Greenleaf) was a tournament guy. That's like me trying ti disparage Mosconi because he made nowhere near the money Fatty did. Regardless, you've gone around on half a dozen videos saying the same blah blah blah shit about carrying jocks....when the biggest jock carrier around here is you. Educate yourself, and quit being ignorant!!

  • @victimofcheese

If Fats was that good he would have competed in professional tourneys. Knowing he didn't have a chance against Mosconi, Lassiter, Caras, etc. was the reason he chose to hide in the darkness and hustle. He was a good amateur, that's all. As for Mosconi making money, he did pretty well as a spokesperson for Brunswick.

  • @notbestfriends Fats wasn't a tournament player, he played where the money was. Again, you really need to read up on the history of pool, and the players of that time, because saying "he was a good amateur" is flat ignorant. I suppose guys like Bucktooth were also "amateurs" because they played for money instead of in tournaments? lol

  • @victimofcheese

I've seen film of Fats playing. He was a good amateur and couldn't carry the jocks of the the top pro players of that time. Get real.

  • @notbestfriends You've seen video of an old past his prime man playing. Now shut your fuckin pie hole and quit talking out your ass about players you have no concept of. You're a fucking retard, uneducated on the history of pool, completely ignorant of the who-and-what-and-when of pool and making a big dumb asshole of yourself talking about shit you patently know nothing about. Buy some fuckin books and educate yourself you dumb sack of shit nit.

  • @victimofcheese LOL! Absolutely love your moniker - "victim of cheese" would equally befit a great friend of mine (no pool player, but an ardent cheese lover). :-)

  • @LeonFleisherFan hahah thanks. its pool related of course. :)

  • iSNT THAT ETTA JAMES FATHER?

  • My hero!

  • He made pool what is TODAY .!! He made people watch and play the game .He wasn't the Greatist but He was the GREATEST PERSONALITY OF POOL !! The geatest 9 Ball player was Luther {whimpy } Lasiter.R.I.P. BOTH OF THEM. AMEN.

  • R.i.p the best.
