This is definitely pop, but pop isn't always bad. The Beatles was pop (mostly), and they're obviously incredible. NMH is just pure genius. I was born in '90, and I love a lot of music to come out of that decade is great, in my opinion, but few are worth listening to repetitively. NMH is one of them. It's just gorgeous music, really.

All my friends call me a hipster, I really wouldn't consider myself a hipster.
What I mean is, when I picture a hipster I think of somebody like Darwin Deez or somebody from Fleet Foxes.
However, I suppose I'm a hipster because I listen to a lot of underground Lo-Fi and a lot of dance-punk.
I think the whole Hipster generation is a joke though. To live your life ironically just seems like a real big waste of time and I'd rather just live my life enjoying music then care about hipsters

I don't know I don't watch really TV especially watered down ass shit like the grammys. but he was holding one in his hand and he's in front of the background and shit and I do kinda remember that he and Stewart hosted that or oscars or someshit like that. he barely mentions it when they ask him what music he likes tho.

It is a social group worth of being laughed at. They do, embrace, and live with the purpose of being "underground" or "indie" rather than just being themselves. As for all the talk about hipsters... I don't think it's what you wear or what you listen to... it's an attitude and misplaced priorities. Nothing more. Anyone can like something hipsters like, for the quality of the thing, or because of personal sentimentality, while a real hipster would like that thing because it's a non-mainstream trend that lets them feel exclusive. They then abandon it once popularized.

Ahh I'm getting too old for this. Saw Jeff back in 1997 or 1998 at a show in baltimore. I was only 20 years old, lived most of my 20s with a bunch of bootlegs from hotel shows in my glove box or in a rubbermaid box full of sleeves in the passenger seat. 2 depressions that spanned 5 1/2 years and 3 mental breakdowns later....I only have Jeff to thank for brining me back.

This is definitely pop, but pop isn't always bad. The Beatles was pop (mostly), and they're obviously incredible. NMH is just pure genius. I was born in '90, and I love a lot of music to come out of that decade is great, in my opinion, but few are worth listening to repetitively. NMH is one of them. It's just gorgeous music, really.

I only brought The Beatles into this because people were arguing on whether or not this was pop, and I was trying to say that pop isn't always bad, thereby giving an example. Sooo I think if you're allowed to thing NMH is better than The Beatles, I'm allowed to use them as an example of pop...
