With the incorrect spelling of the words 'embourchure', and 'descreetly,' at least I know that you don't teach for a living. Should your username be sCORNET8?
Those who can do...Those who can't teach....and clearly from your comments you're a teacher! (Why would you pick on typos when I was making a valid point that most Trumpeters wouldn't be aware of until they were asked to mime?) Guess you're gonna keep it bitchy then after I tried to be nice?! ...No surprises there! Ever heard the phrase 'If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?!'
Hmm. Did I strike a nerve? I don't see how having a stinking cold affects your ability to mime, but maybe I'm missing something. By the way, I've plenty of work thanks, sadly none of it involves dancing, singing or miming, just live trumpet playing.
No nerve struck.....just amused :-) It's far from unusual that a male Trumpeter would be catty about a female one. Shame really as there is plenty of work to go around. As for the cold it's quite uncomfortable to mime with one....If you form the correct embourchure and take a breath in but can't let the air out of your nose you are forced to descreetly let it out of the corners of your mouth as if it goes through the instrument you risk making a sound.
Oh, by the way Karen is playing on the Chris Moyles quiz night every Sunday....It seems she can play live ;-) ....Glad to hear you have plenty of work......It's good to know that backing tracks and plastic brass playing keyboard players are not cleaning up! :-) ....Shame you don't get to sing and dance aswell though...It's lots of fun and keeps the beer belly at bay ;-)
Actually the band was not allowed to play live as there was not enough time/money to soundcheck...but I guess you'd know this if you knew anything about TV gigs!It would have been much easier to play a live solo than to learn someone else's solo note perfect and to mime it in time whilst having no outlet for the air...as any sound would have bled in to Michael's live microphone...Oh yes...and with a stinking cold! Not a bitter, out of work male horn player are you?! :-)
