  • im one of those guys that heard this song from a video game and looked it up, still a good one.

  • gosh! i think i heard this song when i was 10 or so and then now...its so dark, sounds very like Monster...this performance is amazing, michael looks so neurotic i love it

  • check piggy the journey. Its a beasty song

  • this song is a beast.

  • this is better than VEVO cuz i don't have to watch those fucking ads

  • SUPERSONIC...REM!!!

  • Dedicated to my ex-girlfriend.....

  • Great song, but the Michael looks like he just escaped the nut house, LOL.

  • It always makes me chuckle when people go on about the good old uncommercialised stuff to be the best. Like you are rebelling against the masses. I can't see it myself. There's good and a tiny bit bad in all there stuff. I absolutely adore the mish mash of dead letter office, and absolutely hate the dirge of Moral kiosk. Think Good Advices, Wendel Gee and Falls to Climb are legendary but Daysleeper is garbage. I think the best two albums are Fables and New Adventures.

  • @rjrayner1972

I'm there with you, except my 2 faves are Lifes Rich Pageant and New Adventures in Hi-Fi.

  • In response to the post-Bill Berry smear campaign. Yeah, they went a little post modern for a while, but Up was pretty solid overall. Reveal is half excellent and half okay, Around The Sun, okay they don't even like that CD. However, Accelerate and Collapse Into Now are both excellent CDs and were great ones to end their career on.

  • REM is forever.

  • It is a bittersweet moment as I think about the things in life that have made the most profound impact in our voyage. As we say goodbye to R.E.M., I am forever grateful for the space that they could only fill in my soul. Sometimes I have thought about my life as Pre- and Post- R.E.M. Michael, Peter, Mikey and Bill, I too was nervous when the lights were bright.

  • REM are no more!!!

  • They should take every song made after 1999 and burn it all and erase it from the earth so we only have this and every song from before!

  • @BananaPhoneBanana thanks god that's not possible, otherwise a lot of great songs would be gone.

  • This was a fantastic concert tour and probably the final time i really enjoyed REM. The rest of their Warner stuff was too commercial. It always sort of felt like they sold out.

  • badasses

  • dis version is better than studio version! by d way, where can i DOWNLOAD DIS SHIT?

  • WOW!!! this shit is funny lol

  • Which album is this on?

  • @ACMaster24 "green" i suppose...but please correct me if im wrong....

  • Green

  • seen them 5 or 6 times......great until drummer left

  • this is when REM made great music....WTF happened to them? Bill Berry Leaves and they went to shit!

  • @Ian2belle They ran out of inspiration.Happens to the best of them:( But what a catalogue they have!Have to be grateful for all those brilliant songs and albums they have released.See them live! They are really good:)

  • @Ian2belle Actually, they went to shit long before that. They were stunningly innovative and the best band in the country during my college years then they got lazy or wanted to cash in or both and garbage like "Shiny Happy People" and "Stand" came along and were followed by nothing but commercial sell-out drivel. What a shame for they were so great and I still put "Life's Rich Pageant" up against any album ever made.

  • seeing as how this video is from 1989, I really doubt Michael Stipe was copying Weiland.

  • Strange band REM. Never could work out what that Michael Stipe was about. Good tunes though. I think I like their late 80s stuff best.

  • @sometimeworld1 You mean what he IS about...he hasn't died nor quit yet mate! He is a weirdo though.....

  • On GTA

  • Scott Weiland anyone?

  • @timmybobdiss Stipe has done that stuff like that on stage since probably FOTR.

  • Who heard this song from GTA IV? if ya did Thumb UP this comment

  • ジョンライドン?

  • Exxon Valdez 1989 this was off the album green..lol

  • I love this song, but why is he acting like he is having a ceasure on stage?

  • @RIMOOREZ Not to be a Nazi, but we spell it 'seizure' in my parts :P He appears to be having a seizure because he is Michael Stipe. It's his thing, kind of like how KISS band members wear makeup and wear ridiculous outfits, or how Jimmy Page has hair down to his knees. It's how he rolls; the freakish, mentally addled, abrupt head movement kind of rolling. Its just who he is.

  • @RIMOOREZ

Michael is one of the gretaest dancers on stage. He really has some unique moves...

  • What I choose....not to do....

  • I purposely make Niko Bellic wait in the car until this song is over. Sorry Niko! Lol

  • @TheClockworkGamer I thought I was the only one!

  • @SfinxOfSyrinx Lol how funny!

  • Wasn't this on the Green CD?

  • REM uses Exxon products as their exclusive fuel and lubrication source for tour buses and planes.

  • rem foo fighters and u2s last album prove that old guys can still rock with integrity

  • Saw them in Melbourne, Australia a few years back (think it was 2005 or 2006, to lazy to check dates), they launched into Turn you Inside Out halfway thru and i was standing up screaming my lungs out.. That coupled with getting in backstage at Rod Laver arena's and heading on to Cherry bar, drinking/partying with the guys til 8-9 in the morning probably one of best (concert) memories of my life this far :)

  • What key i this song in?

  • @fiddles900 havent played it in a while, but i remember it being a standard EADGBe tuning.. The way ive played it is intro as a B variant (xx4402). Main part chord progression is B (x2440x) - A (x0220x) - D (xx023x).. "chorus" would just be an E (powerchord at 0799xx or regular 02210xx). Theres a raise as well, at some point, to F# iirc...

This is just how i play it, peter buck probably does it differently :)

  • This grunge, before the Grunge

  • Comment removed

  • Okay, if this video's only got 90,000 views then half of em are from me XD

  • I see where Scott Weiland gets a lot of his style from now.

  • Libert rock radio 97.6

  • when this song came out?

  • @sofia739 1988, you can find this song in 'Green', their first WB record

  • @sofia739 1988

  • Hey this is Lazlow for ZiT!. (...)

    BEEP BEEP

"R.E.M. - Turn you inside out"

  • Lazlow thank you for this awesome song.

  • Those 3 dislikes need to be turned inside out

  • Thank you Lazlow of Rockstar games for putting this song in GTA IV

  • 2 People were not turned inside out

  • The Band had attitude back then...must have been gravity (lol)

  • love the megaphone.

  • Fu. King. Ama. Zing.

  • I LOVE THIS BAND and this is a great tune. However, Michael Stipe had a definite Robert Downey jr. phase / crush going on here. C'mon he looks just like him.

  • love doing drive-bys in gta 4 listening to this

  • @RandomHeroeEric I'm with you on that

  • me fascina esta cancion wauuuuuuuu

  • been my favorite for years you just cant beat it

  • Great song! this is from Tourfilm concert video shot in Atlanta, i have this on VHS, lol,

  • Taken from one of the finest albums of all time.

  • Thanks RockHitts, one of my favorites,

    R.E.M. at their best.

  • now this is fucking music, none of that lady gaga shit.

  • @SamStam12

I know people are deaf these days, the 90's definitely was better for the music channels.

  • This song goes out to BP! LOL

  • You guys just heard this from GTA IV? Damn, you've been missing alot.

  • BP!!!!!

  • Amazing!

  • Best song to listen to while driving on the sidewalk

  • @nniFymereJ lol

  • Lol exxon could but and sell these guys 20 times a day.

  • gta 4!

  • Thank you GTA 4 !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn, just like I saw it live on that tour.

  • whats does he say at the start? something like "this one goes out to the x-on corporation. what is that about?

  • @roopdaug His comment refers to Exxon, the worlds largest oil company.

Though Stipe's lyrics are rather vague, as in most of his works, the album which included this song was filled with political criticism towards big government and big corporations. This is the most likely reason he would start this song with a dedication to Exxon Oil.

  • @roopdaug Exxon Corporation. It's a gas station chain.. "Exxon Mobil Corporation" read about them in Wikipedia and more.

  • @roopdaug Extending upon others' comments, this song is a response to the Exxon-Valdez oil spill.

  • It's exxon corporation. Please consider picking up a newspaper every few years or so.

  • @darrel816 im 16 and i wouldve googled it but i didnt know how to spell the companies name lol.

  • Rock 4 Life!

  • Amazing music and Liberty rock radio is the best

  • LIBERTY ROCK RADIO BABY

  • great song, great performance, good sound on vid.

  • I wonder why but mysteriously I found this video funny.lol

  • @bummarketer87

Same with me, but it had something to do with the girl in the video that I previously viewed, relative to this song title. I could turn her inside out...and I'm not sorry about that comment. She's pretty hot. Back on the topic of this specific video, I agree. Exxon and other oil companies have screwed others for far too long. At this stage, oil should be used primarily for lubricant.

  • I wonder why but mysteriously I found this video funny.lol

  • gta 4 LRR liberty rock radio ! :)

  • One of four best concert "rockumentaries" ever in my opinion, along with "Rust Never Sleeps", "The Last Waltz" and "Van Morrison Live at Montreux 1980/1974".

  • does any1 know what that song is that goes take a ride on the firefly

  • NIKO BELLLIC!!!!

  • LIBERTY ROCK RADIO :D:D:D
