  • This is a thrilling story of one man and his epic battle with the floor. Who will win? Find out at cinemas:

    Prone Bridge 2: Corlectric Boogaloo

  • do you only hold it for 6 seconds?

  • is it correct if my lower back muscles feels sore after i do it? i'm a girl with horribly low stamina and strength. -_____- and my arms would tremble terribly, too. :/ will i get better at this in time?

  • @yoimemonkee yes, when i started doing these, about 2-3 months ago, my arms tremble as well. My back would hurt after doing 2 or so sets. Just keep doing them, and youll get better. I only do them maybe once or twice a week, mainly when it rains and i cant go out and run for track. They'll get soo easy that soon youll be doing them with 1 leg in the air

  • how long does you holding it for?

  • For the people posting they can hold this for minutes: Try alternately lifting your left arm and right leg, followed by right arm and left leg. Or just do the arms.

  • yo staleytraining so basicaly u just stay in that possition as the work out? and wat part of the body does it work out?

  • @jollyhop Your a fucking idiot

  • held it for 2 minutes :)

  • @remembamlilf TWSS

  • @d2thh725 lol i dont get it???

  • @jollyhop you fucken retard

  • Aren't they called planks? I learned this exercise in physical therapy. Based on what my PT said you're doing the exercise wrong. Your arms should be wider (about shoulder width) and hold it longer. It works abdominals as well as shoulders. You can do side planks as another shoulder exercise.

  • @ParabolaTool as for holding it longer, he was just demonstrating what it looks like

  • @ParabolaTool

there are many variations of exercises out there. u still get a burn from this one.

try not to get caught up in the naming of exercises. nomenclature is not important. it's the exercise that counts.

  • once I start doing 3x1min, I'm putting on some weight :D

  • does just holding it there help?

Or is it an up and down thing?

  • @zarconeus holding it.

you'll feel the burn after a good 20 seconds

  • @zarconeus you hold it, it's a ab stability isometric workout

  • @zarconeus hold it

  • I thought this was the plank o.o

  • yea thats the other name...

  • @MrZenic it is, this is another name for it is all

  • 6 minutes was my best. Youd be suprized how much you use ur back in this

  • I remember the first time we had to do this in gym, the teacher said he would give 20 dollars to anyone who could do it for more than 10 minutes. Thought it would be easy..... was not easy

  • fuck, I can do it for like 40 seconds and I'm in good shape

  • My teacher could actually hold it for 15. Hes like 40 something too, but in really good shape

  • 15 minutes? holy shit.

I'm guessing the shorter you are the easier it is to hold. I'm over 6 feet tall so it's a little hard for me.

  • Ynow how after doing it for a while your body starts shaking? He was doing this type of breathing and keeping steady. I guess that helps, dont get tired quickly. Would be good to learn for other endurance exerisizes as well.

  • @karan8624 just did it for the first time in my life... after 20 seconds my entire body was vibrating and shaking, i held it for 10 more seconds and collapsed (30 seconds total). my abs burn more than anything... does that make sense or was i doing it incorrectly?

  • @pgriffs1 It absolutely makes sense. Abs are designed to stabilize your spine against a load, which is exactly what you were doing.

  • Jolly, there is no point in holding a static bridge for more than 3 minutes, and it'd make for an extremely boring video. We're not trying to amaze anyone with this video, we're simply showing how the exercise is performed.

  • @StaleyTraining yes, but for some reason the video has this hilarious quality as a result of the short length

  • @StaleyTraining I can't believe you actually had to explain that. lol some people are just clearly meant to be garbagemen

  • Jollyhop, do you really want to watch someone hold a motionless position for 3 minutes, or would the 6-second video here be sufficient for you to figure out how to do the exercise?

  • These are a fun way to help out endurance for pushups. I did three sets of 2 minutes today. By the last set it hurt, but in a good way.

  • when I do these I just hold for a minute, about 3 times

  • a little harder than you might expect it to be. but still very very doable to do 3X30

  • what muscles does this work?

  • The whole of your core, its for strength and stability.

  • what

  • yeah this is a very nice exercise for your mid-section and a perfect one to get yourself into shape

  • you really have no idea wat ur talking about do u, the back is mean to be as straight as possible. It helps improve ur posture.

  • I was proud of myself when I did this, because I was able to slowly count to 70 while maintaining it. And I was fine afterwords. Awesome. :D

  • looks easy, but try it. You'll start to tremble like a little girl

  • I got all cocky my first time I tried it. Sure, I did 3x30sec but within the first 15 seconds I was already trembling.

  • yup me too. i can knock out 3x30, but its not as easy as i thought it would be.

  • My training buddy and I used to do a circuit of these:

    1) Normal prone bridge with weight on the back

    2) Elevated prone bridge (one side, then switch over to the other side)

    3) Elevated 'normal' prone bridge with weight on the back

You do them all after each other.

We first did them all at 30s each and eventually got to 1 minute each.

We accomplished this within a month.

    Your core will feel fantastic!

  • m8 if my only work out is prone brdge will i get a 6 pac

  • Everyone has a sixpack but it is covered by fat. The only way to get a 6 pack is to cut your fat. However, you can change the way they look. Doing these exercises (and doing them longer/with more weight everytime) will really help you give a solid core (stomach + lower back) and if you flex it, the girls have something way better to touch than an untrained 6 pack ;)! Be sure to use correct techniques though and I can tell you they are NOT easy to do ;)! Forgot to tell; we did 3 rounds of 1+2+3!

  • you'll get stronger abs but a visible six pack is only maybe 20 percent big abs it's mostly bodyfat. Some people can't show a six-pack without dangerous water cutting - it's partially genetic. Worry about being fit first and the looks will follow.

  • They aren't easy to hold for a minute.

  • congrats on being out of shape :)

  • Okay, let me elaborate, they're also not easy for me to hold two minutes.

It's like wall-sits even if you could do them 5 minutes they still suck after just 1.

  • this is hands down the most eventful video on youtube

  • Haha! I agree!

  • Yea, I made a cup of tea and sat down to watch - had to watch it 1500 times before I got through the cuppa!

  • /sarcasm
