Highly unlikely :) It all depends on gender, height, weight and age. The lees you weigh, the less you burn, compared to a larger person. To burn 830 kcal in an hour you would have to be punching and kicking non-stop, no breaks at all.
@skateonsurf nope there is no such thing as belts in kickboxing or in muay thai if kickboxing has belts it means its freestyle. hear someone claim to have any color of belt in kickboxing they are being scammed by someone who made something up that is not REAL martial arts.
@SlyCooper325 i cant agree more about the statement of REAL martial arts aha but kickboxing is ranked in belts as it descends from PKA whish was full contact karate and karate is graded in belts research it if you dont believe me my trainer is current midweight champion of the world and he is a blackbelt i know muay thai is not graded in belts
this is really good, I have been thinking of taking up kickboxing but have been dissuaded by the constant thought of not being able to master the basics, but it seems quite simple if I put the effort in. Thank you very much for uploading the video.
@Hendrix1436 bro its the most fun thing ever. its all about the environment though. if u find a gym that has great coaches that make it fun to learn and u start feeling comfortable, it will become a big part of your life. not only is kickboxing a super great way to stay in shape but with some time you'll be able to defend yourself too, even if youre not doing it for competition. good luck!
for the roundhouse kick you should pull your leg back and twist into it more that way the power of the mawashigeri (round kick) will be much much stronge. very strong punches tho very good.
Nice pad-work guys,I'll use this. What is wrong with all u people writin mad stuff by the way??! Complete strangers arguing wi each other thru YouTube! Mental.
@clarky4492 The whole thing is choreographed, I believe you meant telegraphed. However in a fight that move allows for a feint and can lead into setting your opponent up for a different strike. Also it's very hard to generate kicking power with your lead leg thus making the shuffle necessary. Even if it's blocked your opponent is still going to have to account for that strike.
The only thing I'm concerned about here is the stance. Should his upper body be turned a bit to protect his sternum? And shouldn't the rotation from the punches start in the legs? I think that when you become pro then the complete basic for beginners are left behind but it's okay because once you get to that level it's no longer necessary. He hits pretty hard though 0.0
Very nicely done, it looks more like san shou or westernized MT than trad Amer kick boxing, but still it covers most of the basics and in a way that would be street effective.
@THEpillows100 Do you honestly believe Kickboxing is better than Karate, all styles of Karate? If they want to move on further with their training why not go for the 2nd 3rd 4th dans? So you see, you fall flat on your face, AGAIN... FUCKING DUMBASS....
@macktheknife888 The funny thing is... You can do Karate all day long, but in a real life situation.. I bet you won't put all of that into play. I do Mixed Martial Arts... And Muay Thai dominates all that.
@THEpillows100 Blackbelt or first dan in Japanese simply means first step. So they get to the first step, and then quit. Who's a fucking dumbass now......
Hardyleaf123. Wipe your chin mate cause your dribbling shit. You wouldn't know the difference between karate and kickboxing, when you get a black belt in full contact karate then you can talk all the shut you want. So all you've learnt is kick, punch, knees and elbows? What about combinations, take downs, ground submissions, locks, holds, oh and respect!
this video isnt just to teach you how to fight. people use kickboxing also as an exercise at the gym. its really good for warming up, since its not boring like running on the treadmill.
Here in the Philippines Kickboxing is seen as a non martial art that lacks discipline. It's quite simply for the failed Karate student who lacks the discipline to move up in the Karate world, or the bar brawler who only wants to start a fight. It is interesting to note that Kickboxing has no overall governing body, just countless number of small independent groups of failed Karate students calling themselves champions but in truth they would rather go to a bar and start a brawl.
@macktheknife888 I do kickboxing and its not because i failed karate, i could have done any martial art but i chose it, i dont want to start a brawl i want to be able ro fight when needed. i useto do boxing but moved to kickboxing instead because in fights i dont want to be limited to hands. all people do in karate is make weird noises and wave there hands in weird sequences. kickboxing is about Discipline, Strength and being able to fight, i have lernt many punches and many kicks so screw you.
@Ritsyke its funny cause youd get broken if you stepped in the ring with any kick boxer, let alone people like my self who have been doing that and karate for 10 years at the same time

Japanese kick boxing does allow knees, e.g. under K1 rules; although, I do agree that they should make it clear that in American kick boxing it's not allowed so people won't get the wrong idea
@BlackMarchen: i see, but if your gonna kick'em after the shuffle you lose power, GREAT if your gonna set up for hard punches but not for kicks but then every fighter has there own unique. (to each his own)

@Conorhstone as long as your instructior is good he will control the class, and in my club anyone can spar with anyone regardless of skill cos were all mates. i spar with my instructor (second dan and England leightweight champion WAKA) and get beaten but i also spar with beginners and a 6'9" blue belt scoucer who does not hold back, but the better your opponent, the faster you learn.

I'm thinking of starting Kickboxing anyone got any advice: what should I take with me, should I do it alone or with someone else etc.

Interesting. I'm thinking of starting kick-boxing, and this video surely served as an inspirational source to me. Thanks for posting it!
