Many people will have a different name or label to try and define or make sense of how I dress or act, but I really wouldnt know what to call myself if I HAD to pick a label.

@SofiaAlejandra9 I try to keep my accent pretty similar but as I get older it changes from time to time and from location to location. Now I try to speak as clearly and particular as possible to sound more intelligent so that Im not judged based on my slang, but Im sure if I went to Australia I would start to pick up some of that accent in time too. Can't help it!! lol I try not to though.

You sound totally different but I completely understand because my husband is from the city of San Jose, CA and he spoke a lot of slang and cursed a LOT! And I grew up in a small town (mostly White) in the Midwest and we sounded like complete opposites but he let go of his slang and wow, he just sounds so different! A good different because now he is in College and he speaks really clear. Love your vids!

@obscurity87 LOL, Yes I loved it, it was very intimate. Overall I loved the poetry, ppl are very talented there and Lo was bomb im glad she spoke about the Oscar Grant issue. I was expecting more content though as far as subjects to hear about. PPl only spoke about the african or black struggle, very few people had anything else to talk about. But I def wont judge, I was impressed with the talent for sure and I bet if I went a few more times I get a better idea of the diversity.

@LuvsUrEyez aww if you girls are going to be in new york for some time.. you should go there on Fridayss for the poetry slamss..you'll have a broader range of topics from the poetss..and my favorites: Vanessa Hidary and Malcolm St.John usually perform on Fridays...btw look them up if your sincerely into poetry (spoken word) you will be moved in some way listening to their poetry...it's absolutely intoxicating.
